Crenshaw calls Social Security, etc., "welfare" --- in other words, he's saying that a return to you, the taxpayer, of a portion of the very thing that you pay for out of your own pocket is welfare.

But if anyone's been alive long enough to remember when Mikhail & Raisa Gorbachev's visited the USA, it was the Soviet President who was astonished at OUR grocery stores, not the other way around.
