It is when most black people hate somebody just because they have an R next to their name. The thing is that Sid, and Trump aren't old guard Republicans. Those old stuffy establishment assholes have no home in the modern Republican party. There's more room for common sense people. Black, white, blue, brown, doesn't matter.

I said last night that Baton Rouge was a special circumstance, but maybe the things that brought Sid to the mayor's office are more commonplace throughout the country. I hope so.

Baton Rouge hasn’t had a Republican mayor since 2004 (Bobby Simpson).

Let that sink in.

It's the legacy of Huey Long. We've been trying to overcome his influence for 90 years.

Sid is an awesome man and is very well known and respected in the black community from his coaching and community outreach work

Sounds like a good man with a good pedigree and potential. I'm happy for y'all.

Yeah. He tried to beat Kip by running on guns and abortion. Seriously. Blew off the business community going to towns like Austin to see what they were doing right.

Yea and the state added 4 new amendments to the already longest constitution in the union. SMH. None of those should have been an amendment.

So one month ago, 54% of EBR voted for Kamala. Fast forward and a white, male Republican get 54% - an 8 point swing. Something’s up.

Yes...somethings up...
The St.George 2% was on the ballot and SG peeps turned out in force to make sure the 2% didn't stay in BR..it's pretty simple.
She shot herself by insisting you put the 2% tax transfer in this election cycle...dumb political move..she should have seen this coming a mile away.

Our blacks are deeper blue than yours. In other words they are more racist.

What's the largest city in the US with a Republican mayor?

Dallas - though he switched parties after he was elected.

Then Fort Worth.
