Cuba hands out weapons to citizens and tells them 'prepare for an invasion'

Amid the deployment of US military might near the island, the Havana government has begun distributing weapons to ordinary citizens, officially urging them to prepare for an imminent foreign invasion. The Mirror of Venezuela and Social Discontent The report confirmed a fact of significant military impact: Cuban troops were secretly operating in Venezuelan territory when an armed incursion aimed at deposing Nicolás Maduro was carried out. This confrontation, originally conceived as a lightning attack, limited their options for retreat and resulted in the deaths of just over 30 Cuban soldiers on the ground.
Among the population, the general sentiment ranges from alarm to exhaustion; according to local accounts, some Cubans admit that, faced with the suffocating crisis, "they just want this to end once and for all, one way or another." LINK

I don’t believe this reportage. No communist government gives weapons TO the citizens. The first thing the communists do (after taking over mass communication and establishing their secret police) is take weapons FROM the citizens. Handing out AKs to some block wardens in Havana does not mean they’re arming the Cuban people.

Are you blind? Everything in Iran is worse than when we began. They control the Strait of Hormuz, the regime is still in place and they still possess enriched uranium, there's been no revolution, the economy is substantially worse, and fuel and food prices are higher. Is that a win to you?

He was giving one of his 3 hour speeches to a crowd of 50K. When he stopped to take a breath, you could hear a man shouting popcorn, peanuts. He continued, stopped for another breath and once again popcorn, peanuts. To which Castro shouted, "one more time and Ill kick your arse all the way to Miami"......To which 50K responded popcorn, peanuts...
