Cuba hands out weapons to citizens and tells them 'prepare for an invasion'
It would be "funny" if they used those weapons to bring down their own corrupt government. (Didn't read the thread, but this has probably already been mentioned)

quote:Mostly likely they handing out AKs to communist-comrades-mercenaries from N.K, iran, china, Africa & russia.
... Handing out AKs* to some block wardens in Havana does not mean they’re arming the Cuban people....
* The "Kalashnikov" was developed by Hugo Schmeisser.
At the time, Master Schmeisser was serving time in GULAG in Siberia,
and a drunken sergeant Kalashnikov was carried around in a sleigh to check on the progress of the work.
Then, by stalin's decision, the Schmeisser assault rifle was redesigned for the drunken Kalashnikov.

They would welcome the US. That place is a complete shithole.

Everything in Iran is worse than when we began.
That was kind of the point. We don't want them to have an easy time building nukes and ballistic missiles.
quote:
They control the Strait of Hormuz
An abjectly false statement.
quote:
the regime is still in place and they still possess enriched uranium
Nominally. The uranium is buried under tons of rubble and inaccessible.
quote:
there's been no revolution
We can't do that for them. Also it does not help that they murdered 40k Iranians recently who might have helped with that.
quote:
the economy is substantially worse
Besides paying more for gas, not really.
quote:
food prices are higher
A trend that started in 2021. That is our fault for allowing deficit spending and dollar printing by our government. Nothing to do with the Iran war.
It sounds like you need to get some better information sources. Your bias is showing through.

Cuban troops were secretly operating in Venezuelan territory when an armed incursion aimed at deposing Nicolás Maduro was carried out.
That worked out well for those armed, trained Cuban soldiers. Amirite?
So now they think untrained Cuban citizens are going to fare better? This is an interesting timeline in which to exist. Very interesting.

Good way to get overthrown. Most folks there would welcome the U.S. taking over.
Most folks would welcome different leadership and a new economic system, but I don’t think any citizen of any country really wants to be invaded. And if you look at Venezuela, the US is shielding Delcy Rodriguez from all sorts of corruption investigations simply because she’s willing to help the U.S. plunder oil reserves there. Cubans don’t want an American stooge.

That worked out well for those armed, trained Cuban soldiers. Amirite?
The regime doesn't trust own population.

I think it’d be kinda cool.
My FIL went there about 10 years ago. He's a missionary.
He said it was way cool with all the 1950s era automobiles.
I've watched quite a few YouTube Cuba vids over the past several weeks and the nation and the people are in shambles. Yes, there are still wealthy upperclass communist elites but 90% of the citizens are living in third world shite hole country conditions.

Foreign businesses are fleeing Cuba
Visa and Mastercard transactions are suspended. As of June 6, the Central Bank of Cuba announced that foreign cards from these systems are no longer being processed.
Major hotel operators are leaving: Spain's Iberostar and Meliá are ceasing management of dozens of properties:
Meliá is closing 15 hotels, Iberostar 12.
Canada's Royalton Hotels & Resorts has completely suspended operations.
The departure of Canada's Sherritt International, which had mined nickel and cobalt in eastern Cuba for over three decades, was also a significant blow: the company suspended operations and withdrew its staff, fearing secondary sanctions due to its ties to GAESA. LINK

Are they still "cool" with no gasoline?
