I never understood why the US has allowed communist Cuba to exist 90 miles away from the US. You can't buy a communist made Cuban cigar but at the same time nearly every product in Walmart is made in communist China.

We are about to "liberate" Cuba aren't we?

Not the worse idea since the 60s

Could one of our Board moderates (Bunk, Relentless Hank, etc) explain why Cubans were supplying troops to Venezuela? I thought the Venezuelans were just honest fishermen?

That's a solid point, are you worried this would take away from Somali day cares and D campaigns?

Cubans have been supplying Maduro with security forces.
says alot about Maduro that he had to have security from another country to protect him. Indicates that no one from the country he was running liked him enough to be trusted to do the job.

Check my post history. I'm not a leftist. I've just seen this movie before. A few corporations and banks will clean up while we get stuck with the bill. All our regime change/nation building has ever done is add to the debt.

They’d have done anything for him. Their energy supply was dependent on him.
Which is why Cuba is likely to collapse fairly soon.

I bet the Cuban president doesn't really mean "we" when he talks about giving lives.

Maybe we should send Barry Soetoro down there to go to another baseball game with his buddies.

They shouldn’t have been standing there.

Cubans prepared to give their own blood means the Gulf of America will soon turn red.

Fair enough. I'll take what feels like a W today, and not sweat our impending debt crisis that won't feel the tickle of another potentially failed regime change next to the other trillions :D

I mentioned on another thread, Venezuela supplies over half the oil Cuba needs, VERY cheap, and lets them barter with doctors, military, etc so they dont have to use cash. They also send them a surplus of oil so they can sell it on the open market for US cash.
This has dwindled over the last year and Cuba is suffering rolling blackouts, some lasting longer than half the day.
Of all the tankers the US could have seized coming out of Venezuela, that first one was headed to Cuba with 45 days supply.
This shat is going to get real....real quick.
Here in Trinidad I ran into two cubans the morning of the Venezuelan hoe down. They both kept saying the same thing and raising their fists in hope....somos los siguientes (we are next).

This board would be melting if Biden were at the helm.
Because biden would frick it up. Likely on purpose because he was paid to do so.

All of this.....Venezuela, Cuba, Iran, etc. sounds like some neocon destabilization bullshite. This board would be melting if Biden were at the helm.
Isn't keeping these designated baddies around for endless military expenditures the neocon playbook though? I'm just curious how you think removing the tumor isnt going to help the cancer, is all.

I wonder if it has something to do with loyalty. Apparently Saddam used only Christians as his close inner circle because he believed Christians were more loyal and less apt to enact a coup than his Muslim counterparts.
