Green berets and special ops with an agreed upon offset from future joint revenue venture that’s pays all costs associated ,including equipment and personnel at future cost value … Add in a minimum 3 million dollar life insurance policy for all American special forces.

So, now we fully support sending (poor) American kids to go die for corporate profits?

No, no and no! This is a job for firms like Blackwater and company. Those former special ops guys would eat this up.

I don’t think you need to use current Special Ops guys. We have plenty of vets who can handle this.

Ummm........invasion and invited mean two very different things.

I think it's a great idea. We can either accept the offer, or China will.

Do it.

Wouldn't be some sort of ground combat. Those rebels would be defeated with quickness, via air assaults. Drones baby drones

Going to be spread thin between taking out the cartels and "bringing democracy" to Congo.

We dive into countries all around the world & hey ZERO IN RETURN!

Some of you people are straight idiots!

This is an opportunity & with the technology we have in the battlefields now, and an Admin that won’t jerk around, we’ll demolish those spear chuckers in no time.

When something is on the table and it’s legit & can help solve our deficits and budget, that’s the only reason we should ever put our guys in some sketchy places.

Plus, what’s going on over there is horrible.

But I don’t know enough details and the overall risk of lives, and I’m not going there ti fight, so I’ll hold judgement on what to do.

But $24T is a LOT OF MONEY!

I wonder what’s the spread on that?
How long would it take to extract those minerals? How long’s the play? Versus how long we have to have a major force there?

Can we send the illegals to the Congo to gather our minerals?

I'm all for an exchange of military help for the mineral rights. FFS look at all the blood and treasure we spent in Iraq and Afghanistan and not a thing to show for it except for some ISIS corpses, rich MIC, and wounded vets.

But we absolutely suck at Nation building. That is a fact.

I'm hoping this admin finds some middle ground here.

It's not a semantic ambiguity. It's a lie. There might be some people who think an invasion and being invited into a country are the same, but I don't expect there to be many here.
if you are taking your military into a country that is not your own, and you are going to get shot at for it, does it really matter?

And Congo wants us there.

To fight Rwandan militias. This has plenty of potential to turn onto hit-and-run guerrilla warfare. The Taliban taught the world that if you'll just bleed us of a few personnel per month, we'll eventually leave. American voters don't have the political stomach to lose troops just to maintain the status quo.

And who’s going to gain anything out of this hypothetical conflict? Not you, me, or the poor bastards sent to die, but the billionaires whose kids will most certainly never set foot over there.
