I’ve blacked out more times than I can count. I think it’s believable that a majority of people have never blacked out. You have to be a very heavy drinker to be able to black out in the first place (with a few extreme examples, like pledgeship hazing) because the average person will get sick and vomit before getting to that point. I say this as a recovering alcoholic.

I never blacked out, my close friends never blacked out despite drinking gallons at a time over 4-5 hours.

I've only blacked out when drinking with pills. Bad combo

“Black out” is a term that is up for individual interpretation, just like “devil’s triangle,” and “”buft.”

On the contrary, I’ve never known anyone who has blacked out.

Getting drunk, throwing up, stumbling drunk, passing out, and blacking out are not the same.
I don’t think many people blackout from beer at all. Blackout is when you are still up and about but you have no control and zero recollection of any events.

Only happened to me once and while alcohol and weed was involved it was definitely due to the handful of xanbars, volumes and rohypnols.
