For sure. I worked in banking for years. A personal financial statement isn't used as part of due diligence and underwriting for a loan, and borrowers aren't expected to be appraisers of their own real estate. All pertinent disclosures are verified by title attorneys, appraisers, bankers, employers, credit bureaus, etc. It was a completely conjured charge.

But with James, you have clear cut fraud to get more favorable rates. That's not going to stop dems and the media from shilling for her - they already are, but her rhetoric is going to get thrown in their faces and there's no talking points that can insulate her from that.

I was looking at buying a property one time and it had an exclusive agent (condo pre-sale). He suggested this and I said that's fraud and he got mad and threw a fit.

I contacted the developer, and the developer basically said he didn't care.

Its a dirty industry and plenty of people are willing to play. There are some honest ones and when you find them, keep them in your contacts.

Well, to be fair, all of the AirBNBros have done exactly what Tish did. In fact, some even sold courses to others, telling them how to do i,t and mortgage fraud is the main component of their course on how to obtain properties or "doors" as they call it.

Except.........................those people are not attorneys bound by strict, mandatory rules of professional conduct whose job is to identify and prosecute lawless improprieties

Maybe the worst most idiotic and poorly thought out analogy I've read in years.

But it's still on you if you go along with it.

That's like going to the store and saying - look at all that stuff on the shelf! It's a dirty world, and there are lots of shoplifters, so.....

Not that I agree with what CNN just said. However, every business in NYC did what Letitia James accused Trump of, and the MSM and Dems had no problem with James prosecuting him well after the statute of limitations.

Somebody on this board linked the “everybody does it” argument a couple weeks ago.

Too many do it to make them all felons

This is a low key MSM narrative and not a very good one.

The lengths some people go to defend their party. What a shill!

I absolutely agree. My point is that in my experience, it is regularly accepted.

This isn’t about her valuing a property and being wrong, inflating it, etc.

This is about her certifying to a bank that she was going to use the home as a second residence for herself when she was actually going to rent it out to third parties as an investment property.

Those two things are fundamentally different.

I was basing my comment on CNN's comment that “Everyone in America commits mortgage fraud!”

Oh yeah everyone in America takes out mortgages for multiple properties in different states.

I did. And on the application for mortgage on my second home I listed it as a second home - and out of state. As such I presumably paid a higher rate of interest (IDK); I definitely paid more for insurance, and I definitely paid more for property taxes. But you know what I didn’t do? I didn’t commit mortgage fraud by lying about it to save money.

The same "everyone" that they needed to invent sub-prime mortgages for only to watch them collapse so taxpayers could make whole?

I’m a senior officer in banking. @kasie is completely wrong. She couldn’t possibly be more wrong. She should familiarize herself with the charges levied against Big Tish. The one where she claimed a 5-residence dwelling as having 4 residences is actually quite serious.

This “senior officer in banking” apparently doesn’t even know what she’s been charged with.

I rate "The National Enquirer" and the "Daily Star" as more credible than MSNBC and CNN.
