It’s an older caliber, but I think people are really underestimating how powerful a 30-06 round is.

I have said all along that this was ridiculous nonsense about body armor and deflection and all of that, but watched the video anyway. There is no doubt that what he suggested here is in fact, 100% what occurred. It is plain as day.

I'm still upset about the shooting and don't care one way or the other. However, that video doesn't prove to me he was wearing a vest and until someone tells me how his man boobs and nipples were showing through his shirt, I'll believe he wasn't wearing one. That's all.

A hole in the shirt wouldn't be dark blood colored anyways. You wouldn't even see a hole in the shirt.

After watching this video and the original in slo-mo I think this guy is spot on.
I have enough experience in ballistics and armor plates to say this is very accurate.
I totally get the reason the plate was low profile, but unfortunately you just saw the drawbacks of this style of plate. Perhaps if he had been wearing a plate carrier it wouldn't have deflected but unfortunately we will never know.
Sad to say. Meant to be a life saving measure and 9 times out of 10 it would have been.
This whole deal just keeps getting more depressing.

Unless i'm missing something in your video, it very clearly does not provide any link or quotes from the Kirk team that he was wearing body armor, like is being asked. Maybe you just struggle with reading comprehension? It was flat out claimed that Kirk's team confirmed he was wearing a vest. All that is needed is any link to that statement and this entire discussion goes away. I really don't understand why this is so hard, considering how irrelevant the entire thing is anyways.

Or how there are no visible lines whatsoever anywhere. Nothing on his shoulders, chest, or back. Or how he was able to bend his upper chest in different directions without being hindered whatsoever.

Yep. Falls in line between common rounds like the 308 and 300 WM. Maybe a level 3+ would stop a 30-06 at 200 yards, but you'd most likely need a level 4 plate and that would be easily seen.

I think we are all missing that the style of plate caused a deflection. It most likely didn't penetrate the plate.

There’s video where you can clearly see imprints of his nipples through his shirt. He wasn’t wearing plates or any kind. He took a 30-06 to the throat delivered by a psychopath.
