Just tells you who lubes her...you know.

She's apparently too stupid to know that it takes more than "combat experience:"
And she's an "educator." This idiot is the problem, not the waiving of the degree requirement for some qualified veterans.

The State Board of Education will consider a rule to allow military veterans to obtain a 5-year temporary teaching certificate without a bachelor’s degree, providing the following criteria are met:
Minimum of 48 months of military service with an honorable/medical discharge;
Minimum of 60 college credits with a 2.5 grade point average;
Passing score on a Florida subject area examination;
Employment in a Florida school district, including charter schools; and
Cleared background screening.

Not at all. I know several veterans who became teachers after their military service. They do a great job teaching and are very good role models for the students.

So the opposite of who they want teaching in public schools.

I'm not sure why his running mate is making a big deal about it. A teaching degree is right above someone that majored in Art or Sociology.

Make good administrators on down the line, too

This is a VERY low bar.

Just having any bachelor’s degree is already a very low bar.

Especially in some fields. Like elementary education.
At least middle school and high school teachers are required to have a degree in an actual subject (history, math, etc) and teaching certificate.

This is a VERY low bar.

You sure about that?

Is it limited to veterans? If you have a clean record and can meet all of those other requirements, why not civilians without education degrees.

Good grief = there is probably no better one credential to have than that of honorably discharged military veteran.
I'd put that above ANY single university 'degree' - especially one in merely 'education.'

When I started my 3rd profession (teaching math) after moving back to my hometown in Leesville in 2000, I my LSU electrical engineering degree was not enough to get to do anything more than substitute teach. I took something they called a PRAXIS test to get an 'emergency' certificate that allowed me to teach Algebra/trigonometry. Had to take a few other pedagogy courses before I could get an actual teaching certificate.
I actually enrolled to get a Master's Degree so I could qualify to teach the 'advanced classes' but after a couple of weeks of that mess, I could just not continue. I decided I'd just be a distraction in the class by continuing to question the crap that was going on.
Of my 3 professions, I loved teaching math more than any other - even though I worked harder and made less than any of the other two. I really enjoyed teaching math = back to the simple basics. I was aghast at all the 'memory aid' bullshite they taught the kids these days to do simple tasks. Anyone know about FOIL?

She’s awful. Her voice is annoying too.
