That's part of the great divorce: pluralistic liberal states can have it their way, revanchists can have it their way, minimal to no federal government oversight or preconditions.

GOP can probably have the divorce with joint custody over the federal purse strings but they're going to have a liberal reaction if they try to force their way on the liberal states.

I think people on here underestimate how quickly the public is going to turn against the GOP when prices on consumer goods aren't lower, they've created more unemployed people directly or indirectly, and actively sought out policies that are crashing the economy.
