I submit to you an incident involving a conversation between Napoleon Bonaparte and then Papal Secretary of State to Pope Pius VII Ercole Cardinal Consalvi (1757 - 1824). Having conquered most of the known world at that time, Bonaparte portrays more than a little bravado and arrogance.
According to historical anecdote, when Napoleon Bonaparte threatened Cardinal Ercole Consalvi, "Your Eminence, are you not aware that I have the power to destroy the Catholic Church?", Consalvi famously replied, "Your Majesty, we Catholic clergy have done our best to destroy the Church for the last eighteen hundred years. We have not succeeded, and neither will you".
Some of us orthodox Catholics are greatly disturbed by reports of unorthodox and blantantly evil activities going on inside the Vatican. We have a right (and I would argue - an obligation) to speak out regarding these activities.
I have immense respect for Cardinal Gerhard Ludwig Müller. But the reality for us is that we're seeing no evidence Pope Leo is moving to undo the clear unorthodox moral and doctrinal policies Pope Francis implemented. I wish I'd heard Cardinal Müller speak out more forcefully against those obviously flawed papal policies. A few Cardinals have.
Regarding Pope Leo's stinging criticism of President Trump's actions against Iran - nuclear annihilation is a terrible thing - ask any survivor of the bombing of Hiroshima and Nagasaki what their ordeal was like.
Bad people do bad things. And we're seeing a very disturbing trend - increasingly the bad people have access to weapons capable of killing millions (not hundreds - not thousands - but millions......WITH ONE BOMB)
President Trump took a look at the risk involved in allowing Iran to continue to sponsor and export terrorism and he moved. The world is a safer place because of his action.
President Trump is right about.........everything.

He was elected by men. Not a prophet of God on a hill.
Catholics have no perspective.
Catholics have no perspective.

That would be in keeping with your idolatrous blasphemy when it comes to your devotion to your true diety, would it not?

So the Pope doesn't agree with free speech? Jesus did

Oh look, Catholics not realizing their church has become corrupted from the inside.
Your belief is fine and the foundation of Christianity. Your leaders are compromised. Clean your house.

This.
The line between religious values and political values have been blurred to the point I’m not sure they can go back. Both the right and the left think religious leaders should align to their political beliefs and that’s just not true. Religious leaders have one directive. To follow and advance the spread of the teachings of Jesus Christ. These will never align with one side or the other politically. The Pope should be focusing on and spreading Jesus’s teachings while the political leaders should stop expecting those teachings to perfectly align to their side of the aisle.

Please point out where Francis was any different doctrinally or morally overall from say....John Paul or Paul VI. Francis had a different emphasis than JP maybe but his doctrine, theology was very much in alignment with Catholic precedent and dare I say even Irthodoxy.

You’re talking gibberish now.
You’re struggling.

This is what happens when a religion is based off man made institutions and not scriptures.

Why does the Pope speaking out against your Idol trouble you so? Because it does, if you are gleeful because you think his tweets would keep the Pope up at night.

I’m well aware there is corruption but there’s no need to make up things to fight. There’s enough of that that actually exists.

Oh gee, there’s corruption in literally everything that man is involved in? Weird.

Both the Pope's and that cardinal guy can suck on my nuts. I don't recognize their "authority".

Man is not perfect but the catholic church is nothing like what Jesus Christ taught to be the foundation of his church to teach his gospel. Christ is the ONLY mediator between man and God. Graven images?...your church is full of them and fine expensive robes and decorations and even crowns. Jesus taught his apostles and disciples to be meek and humble and to follow his commandments and pray always. Not repeat vain repetitions and to pray to Mary or Michael or anyone else...that's mocking God! but to humbly pray to God and repent of your sins in the name of his son, not to go to "confessional" and tell another man and be given instruction of how many "hail mary's" you have to repeat.
