The fouding fathers had set it up that way. A person had to won property to vote, in other words, they needed skin in the game.
Owning property is one thing, but I do believed that if you don't work, you don't vote.

This is oversimplified hyperbole.
The banks have a lien on the property and can take the property if you don't pay the mortgage as agreed. As long as you are paying the mortgage and it is current the bank can't force you to sell.
People would not jerk off to their home "equity" if they did not own the home like you state.

You pay fuel taxes at the pump. So when you rent a car, you're paying. Uber is paying for the fare based on distance because of time and ... fuel incl taxes. If you're not consuming fuel, you don't pay the fuel tax (although you pay for all kinds of auto transportation stuff through income and sales taxes anyway.)
Once you don't have kids in school, you shouldn't have to pay school district taxes, right? Right? I shouldn't have to pay for Medicare and Social Security until I start actually using it, right?
The entire fricking point was my rent is set based on the owner having to pay property taxes of a certain amount. Is it your fantasy that only poor people rent? Did you really mean something like you don't want Section 8 renters to vote, since they often are not paying for anything via rent? If so, make that your argument.

Carolla has become my favorite “pundit” over the last year. I’ve always appreciated him but didn’t realize the depth of his brilliance until the last 6 mo or so. There isn’t one thing I don’t agree with him on. Not to mention he’s freaking hysterical.

So if you're a college student then you aren't allowed to vote until you are 22 years old and working/paying taxes?
So if you're retired and your only income is Social Security that isn't taxed then you aren't allowed to vote for the rest of your life?

The solution is so easy. The numbers of votes each person is allocated is based on the net federal tax paid in past 2 years. It’s self regulating as rich people vote for lower taxes get less votes in subsequent years, and vice versa.

60 years ago when I was just a wee kid youngster, I thought people should have voting shares based on amount paid in taxes.

Just wait till Social Security benefits are throttled for people who have paid into it for 40 something years.... but the people who are "disabled" and have been sucking on the SS teet for free for decades keep their benefits in full.
