Our societies have replaced capitalism with crony corporatocracy. At a certain age, we can no longer contribute and are deemed as naught but a drain on society, and therefore expendable. Maybe we have our savings and are paying our bills, but we're not actively contributing to the machine outside of that. The only benefit they get from us at that point is the "death tax" on our physical assets and monetary nest egg.
They don't care about you or me. Not in Canada or the US or anywhere else. The entire system in the US is a big circle. The eff dee A > big pharma > medical industrial complex > food industrial complex. They (eff dee A) allow poisons into our foods. The poisons make us sick. We go to the doctor and they give us medicines containing more poisons authorized by the eff dee A. They tell you to eat healthier because of all the poisons in processed and fast foods, but then they poison even the "fresh foods" on grocery store shelves. The "healthy foods" and medications give you new symptoms that keep you returning to the doctor to fulfill the cycle and repeat. They know these poisons (carcinogens, neurotoxins, microplastics) take about 40 years to drastically affect us. What does that give them? That gives them our lives between the ages of 20 and 60, before we start to fall apart and fail. Now, they look to terminate us after that age where we're no longer efficient.
Makes you feel all fricking warm and fuzzy, doesn't it?

When my sister worked at a hospital in Florida, a Canadian man was brought to the ER having a heart attack. They were able to save him, he rehabbed and left doing well.
When they billed Canada for payment they denied payment stating he wasn’t gable for that level of service. In other words, they would have let him die rather than try to save him.
