Absolutely! He can even have lawyers challenge their press credentials.

Provably not, but he can make a complete fool of them every chance he gets like he did in that presser before the inauguration.

Of course he can. However, I think till be better to let them and in continue to act childish. It only strengthens the right and makes the causes of the left look worse.

Sure he can. Will he?

The network that called Trump voters white supremacists, that used the racist term white lash, why shouldn't they be kept away frm reporting fake news?

They have their own issues I believe:

The rest of the press would circle their support around CNN if he did that.

Would all walk out

I'm not sure of the legality of banning CNN completely. They might be able to revoke the press passes of certain individuals at CNN. What are the credentials of obtaining a White House press pass? Could the Poliboard submit/obtain a White House press pass?

I don't see why not. Obviously everyone that calls themselves a news agency does not get in the room. Somebody is picking and choosing who has access. I don't think it would be illegal just to give their pass to another organization.

That's what CNN is hoping for. There are far more effective ways to undo CNN. Time Warner is broke and is seeking merger opportunities, the DOJ could block these mergers, or force a divestiture of assets, have the SEC,FCC, and IRS do sneaky things to undermine stock value...etc

They wouldn't though. Not covering the President hurts their business. Their bottom line matters more than the access of a competitor.

Then there would be no press there and the White House would just stop doing briefings. Do you honestly think he'd give a shite?

When Obama announced a ban of Fox news the other networks backed Fox, and Obama had to back down, although Obama often treated Fox poorly. Likely the same would happen if Trump tried to ban CNN. However Trump spokesman said in December Trump would not ban any networks.

I don't have much of a problem with it...

Press Secretary can talk to the camera, "any questions?"

pause

"have a great day"

Then CNN is going to do their thing anyways...so don't let them have the privilege of asking the President direct questions...

From a personal experience, I was interviewed one time by local news, they put quotes of mine out of context...I was almost fired over it....

My boss said "no more talking to media!"

and that was that...

they don't play with integrity, they play with "how can I make this interesting?"

So, I hate the media ...so I am biased and would support the President if he wants to continue challenging them
