I expect there will be several really good videos of the actual ejection. Neom security detail did good!

California Senator Alex Padilla was forcibly removed and handcuffed during a press conference held by Kristi Noem, the Homeland Security Secretary, in Los Angeles on June 12, 2025.
The incident occurred as Padilla attempted to question Noem about recent ICE operations in the region.
Video footage of the event, which has gone viral on social media, shows Padilla being restrained and removed from the room by multiple individuals while identifying himself as a U.S. senator and stating he had questions for the secretary.
Padilla, a vocal critic of the Trump administration’s immigration policies, described the incident as an abuse of power. His remarks were echoed by political figures such as Kamala Harris and Governor Gavin Newsom, who condemned the actions taken against Padilla as "outrageous, dictatorial, and shameful".
The event has sparked significant attention and debate regarding the treatment of elected officials during public engagements.
Do better.

Why do these people think they are somehow privileged?

It would be very hard to believe a sitting US Senator wouldn't know the channels to get access to the DHS Secretary.

What happens when you do that to a senate hearing?

Had the right, honorable Senator approached the press conference correctly and not yell out interrupting Noem and THEN after confronted by security hadn't turned and forced his body against the security officer, he'd never have been "forcefully ejected."
A security detail is in place to protect and keep peace. Senator chose to loudly interrupt and advance against an officer when he was asked to leave.

quote:His treatment was far too genteel. He was dressed casually, did not identify himself until he forced a physical confrontation, and was not wearing a security pin or badge. His mere claim to have been a Senator under those circumstances does not remotely cut it. SS and the FBI should assure Congress that anyone (either he or others mimicking his behavior) will be lucky if they dont get their skull cracked under such circumstances.

All this, he’s lucky he didn’t get shot. Oh, that’s right, law enforcement did their jobs professionally and it’s amazing that a brown/black man acting the fool wasn’t shot on sight(sarcasm) even though he was acting like one of his constituents.
They had no clue who this psycho was and if he had a weapon, where the Secretary of Homeland Security was holding a press conference.

Because they've never been shown otherwise.

Thune should censure him in front of Congress. He acted like an assassin to get that response from secret service. He knew what he was doing.
