I find it humorous that the assumption is that everyone has 165 of free cash to spend on a passport. I’m sure the same side railing against publicly funded libraries would also assume everyone has the internet and a smartphone too

No
You need proper documents to get DL,
You need proper documents to get passport.
You are supposed to have a valid birth certificate or proof of Citizenship to register to vote.
To show up and vote, you should have to show the proper ID, be it DL or passport.
Registering to vote and voting are separate issues, but in many blue states and cities, there is zero requirement to show ID or even be registered to vote.

if that's true about being able to renew online, and assuming it doesn't take months to receive it, that's pretty good news about the passport, always been a pain in the arse to renew

Pew Research says 93pct of cell phone owners have a smart phone. And the USDA says the average two person house spends $180/week on food.
Got another good TDS argument lined up? Maybe the color of the typeface is ableist or something? Times New Roman font is insensitive to greeks and turks?

On line renewal is easy. The only renewals you need to do in person are minors.
