Has anyone ever noticed that no one who uses this argument ever says what the billionaires' fair share is?

BTW, here is how the really, really rich soaked us in 2016:

quote:

In 2016, the top 1 percent of taxpayers accounted for more income taxes paid than the bottom 90 percent combined. The top 1 percent of taxpayers paid roughly $538 billion, or 37.3 percent of all income taxes, while the bottom 90 percent paid about $440 billion, or 30.5 percent of all income taxes.

So, the top 1 PERCENT paid more than the bottom 90 percent combined.

That guy doesn't belong in college. He needs to learn a trade and some damn math.

You're exactly right.. and they FAR outnumber the billionaires so I think you see how this poses a problem down the road sadly.

Sounds like that is where he should have started instead of going "out-of-state" with a greater financial burden.

Honestly unless you’re going to do medical/law/engineering in grad school, or are from a well off family, the smart financial decision for most who want a 4 year degree in business or something would be to take basic courses/pre reqs at a comm. college freshman and maybe even sophomore year. Just make sure the classes you take will transfer and the credits will count at the 4 year university you choose.

Honestly, these folks would've been a lot more deserving. But hey, its his money. He can give it to who he wants. Very generous move.

It’s a cultural issue among blacks that nobody will address. Even successful ones rarely contribute back to the institutions that got them there. They expect Govt and taxes to cover that, not private contributions. It’s why so many inner city high schools suck. Parents don’t get involved or contribute to it’s success for their kids.

For whatever reason white people seem to maintain a closer attachment to the university they attended and support it in many ways years after graduation via donations, athletic events, etc. Blacks don’t seem to do the same, not on the same level at least.

Didn't they also bitch because Oprah Winfrey didn't pay off all the student debt for the graduates where she gave the commencement address?

No idea, I've never considered Buzzfeed a worthwhile site to visit.

Morehouse is going to have a difficult time booking a commencement speaker next year.

Who wants to follow Mr. Smith?

Or just tie loan amounts to expected earnings. You’re going to be a social worker? You’re starting out at $35,000. After expenses, you will be able to afford a student loan payment of $200/ month. Your maximum student loan is $35,000 total.

Morehouse is a giant waste of money. With HOPE scholarships in Georgia, decent students should not be paying private school tuition for a 4 year degree.

The reason you pay so much for school is that the government subsidizes student loans. When universities see guaranteed money they start offering retarded classes that get you nowhere in your personal career. If these schools were forced to contribute 50% of the student loan financing, you'd see these prices drop overnight.

The worst part if college is the freshman year where they basicslly make up shite you HAVE to take. Like a simple engkish, math, or humanities "elective".

4 year degrees could easiky be condensed into 3 if the college would allow you to begin your major right away.

Did you see that interview with the guy who bought two pizzas with bitcoin in what was the first bitcoin transaction?

What he paid for those two pizzas would be worth $800 million today.
