I think you are overanalyzing this.

The BL "boycott" worked because it was VERY easy to boycott. Bud Light is not a particularly unique or superior product with very few competitors. It was the top selling beer because of brand recognition, low cost, and abundant availability. But the product itself wasn't superior to Coors, Miller, or any other mass produced light beers. So when BL's marketing frick up occurred it was pretty easy for BL drinkers to just flip to Miller, Coors, etc. The products were mostly the same.

Juxtapose that with the NFL. In 2020 when the NFL went "woke", many, many conservatives were "done" with the NFL. They weren't going to consume the product anymore. That sounds great...until you realize that is the only avenue if you want to consume professional football. It's not like someone could just turn off the NFL and turn on another major pro football league. Unlike BL, there was no comprobable competitor. So that "boycott" really didn't work.

The takeaway, if you are the market leader solely because of brand recognition and not a superior or unique product don't do something stupid to give your customers a reason to switch to your competitors.

I like how whenever someone brings logic; your cognitive dissonance shines through and you attack someone and call them mentally unstable.

If Trump would’ve called out AB then it would’ve been a clear victory. If you can’t see that then I don’t know what to tell you.

So a call was probably made, give UFC, Dana White, Kid Rock, and a bunch of other influencers a boatload of cash, in turn being the sheep back to drinking the goat urine again. They simply cannot let this continue and God forbid, the right sees it through and successfully takes a scalp for once.

Well where I live no amount of influencers are helping Bud light out. Several bars no longer stock it and in general it has been replaced by Yuengling beers or even Mexican beers like Dos XX.

They've been way less woke recently. They've invested hundreds of millions with good guys like Dana White.

I feel like we got a W with Bud Light and we should remember how we earned it and used it towards other things.

BS. They may have tried to appear a little less gay on the surface with some of their marketing, they are still absolutely ate up with DEI mandates at the corporate level.

Nah. We get the W when Bud Light or AB deliver a full throated apology. Until then, F'em. You know as well as I do, if BL paired up with some right wing personality that was controversial like say Nick Fuentes... there would be no amount of groveling and apologizing and semonizing from BL. We should expect the same level of realspect for our side that they would absolutely give the left in a heartbeat. This is how you shift Overton Windows. If they don't want to give us that level of respect, fine, hope they never recover.

libertarianism element of conservatism

This is a large part of what's wrong with the "right."

Libertarians: "I just want to be left alone, man. I don't care what other people do as long as it doesn't affect me."

vs.

The Left: "We are going to use every ounce of energy, political influence, and every dime we have to re-shape this world to the secular Marxist/globalist paradise that lives in our dreams and the people will be in happy servitude to it. No one will be able to avoid it. Every institution, governmental, educational, media, and large, private corporate interests will be focused on changing the lives of ALL Americans to this end goal. You will not be able to avoid it. We will own you and we will own your children and all generations to come."

Wake up, people. Unless you push back, unless you realize that you must take a side in this cultural war, unless you take part in destroying the institutions that are wreaking havoc on our society (in this case-InBev and Bud Light), the Left will win.

They have paid a monetary amount to attempt to remove the stain of using their brand to push the normalization of transgenderism and pedophilia on the people. They have learned that they may not be able to be as overt about it next time and that they can just pay money to make this go away. That's all that they have learned. Until businesses are destroyed because of this, then the business world will continue to push the Woke agenda on the American people and just pay for a dispensation when they step over the line.

I agree.

But the best Steelman argument I’ve seen is from Sean Strickland who says “now Bud Light is sponsoring everything I say” and then says the stone cold, unfiltered truth.

But I agree.

Agree 100%. Companies must learn not to get involved in political culture wars or pay the financial price. It’s a shame stockholders were punished for AB’s stupidity.

Do you want people/companies to learn and grow or destroy them?

Without a legit apology, proving they understand what they did wrong and won't do it it again, then nothing else matters. So road of destruction until that apology is provided.

Unfortunately weak conservatives lose that game of Chicken.

Stopped reading here. If you can use context clues to decipher the correct saying on your own, I doubt your opinion on this topic contains much insight, either.

Awful lot of known libs on here white knighting for ab. Curious.

As many posters said - easy to switch. I have one friend- said he still drinks it because it's so cheap now- practically giving it away. So there is that.

Yes there is. This isn't about Bud Light. This is about trying to eradicate wokeness out of mainstream culture. Leftists see comments like this and laugh, because they would go all the way to company destruction while we stupidly try to be "above the fray".

Think about it like two fighters going back and forth. One fighter's goal (the right) is to connect on a punch and get a knockdown, while the other fighter's (the left) goal is to cripple the opponent to the point where he physically can never fight again.

Why anyone would give a shite what Kid Rock is drinking is baffling to me.
Saying that if BL felt the need to pay him any money whatsoever they are in way more desperate shape than I thought and they may never turn this thing around.

Let me get this straight…

The Bud Light boycott started around 8 months ago.

They are no longer the biggest brand in the US.

They have lost a ton of stock value over that time and have become a tainted brand that people don’t want.

Yet Kid Rock saying he is done with the boycott means they won?

Can you say “Pyrrhic victory”?

They never sided with their “customers”, they bought the social leadership
Of their customers off, it does ZERO BENEFIT to their original Al customer base.

It they truly cared about our belief system and moral values against Tranny movement, they would have apologized for
It on public stage & they would have said they don’t support the mentally ILL trans movement
