Brittney Griner should feel very fortunate and grateful now

Brittney Griner may go to a Russian penal colony. Here’s what you need to know.
Washington Post

The penal system in Russia, which has one of the highest incarceration rates in a European country, oversees nearly 520,000 inmates
quote:
What is life in a penal colony like?
quote:
Navalny was sent to Penal Colony No. 2, east of Moscow, before he was reportedly transferred in June to a high-security facility, which his spokeswoman described as “a monstrous place.”
quote:
In 2017, Russian news outlet Novaya Gazeta published a video that prompted outrage, showing guards beating an inmate with truncheons.
All this is to say is at least she won’t have to look at or stand for that hideous flag of the United States of America. She should feel lucky and relieved.
Have fun in your new home, Brittney! We are so happy for you! You’ll certainly stand out among your new and enthusiastic ‘friends!’
If we’re still alive when you get back let us know how great it was and if you will have any future plans on returning to Russia.
Here’s your new flag! Enjoy seeing it for the next nine years!

While it's easy to be petty and have this stance, at some point we're going to have to see she's an American, and despite what she feels about this place, our efforts should be focused on getting her out of that situation because that's what make us better than everyone else.
Here's hoping when this is all over, she learns not to bring illegal substances to other countries.

Tell her that, Oh and tell her to obey other countries’ laws when she visits them.

No the hell we don't. She made her bed now she can lay on it.

You’d hope bigger lessons are learned here

If she saw Stranger Things I think she’ll be home soon.
Because that’s how it works, right?

what a huge mistake she made and is now at the mercy of russian and us governments.

I mean she doesn't have to hear the USA national anthem for a while. Could be a win for her.

Are we trying to get all Americans in prison for drugs overseas out?

Yeah but trading Viktor Bout for this idiot pisses me off....this guy has done nothing but death and misery throughout the world including arming our enemies in the Taliban and al-Qaeda

She was petty, her stance was petty, her whole basis for hating America was petty and fraudulent.

She's Un-American and it's past time that we should let her eat the shite she lived for.
Our efforts should be focused on the next idiot that we could send to Russia.
Kaepernick?

Brandon will trade one of the most dangerous terrorists in history to get her back and the media will ejaculate all over themselves and act like it’s some kind of monumental victory

This won’t happen. Biden will trade multiple murderers to get her back.

It's not petty. She openly hates America. Her privilege and arrogance got her in this situation. I'm tired of taking the high road for people like Griner.

I hope when it's all over, she learns to appreciate America for the great country that it is. And I hope she learns that being American doesn't make you above the law in other countries.

Get out of here with all that compassion bro, there’s none here lol

If you can show me that this was an unequal application of the law then I would agree with you.
But if you are saying that she shouldn't serve any jail time while there are Russian citizens serving time in prison for the same crimes simply because she is American, no. F that B.
