The Serbs have every reason to hate her and us. What we did there was evil. I spent years in the balkans (96-99)...we were on the wrong side and still are. I didn’t figure it out personally until 98. frick all politicians.

This certainly ties in with comments made by a former lecturer I had who was British military.
He discussed being on NATO maneuvers in that area in the 90s when the German representative showed up, said “Is SO good to be back in ze Balkans”, then “produced a set of bombing plans used to great effect in Belgrade in the 1940s.”
He also took every opportunity to take shots at Belgium, going as far as to suggest every country in Europe gang up on them and turn them into a carpark (parking lot). I’m assuming there was some EU tension there.
