No way that Stephen Miller signed off on this.

I know the wall is a big deal to a lot of people, but amnesty for 1.8 million (which will almost certainly increase significantly, just as it did in '86) shouldn't be exchanged for anything less than mandatory eVerify for all businesses, elimination of H1B visas, an complete end to the diversity lottery and significant reductions in legal immigration.

We are the third most populous nation in the history of mankind. We don't need more people here.

ETA: limit "birthright citizenship" to children born to women who can prove they have been legal resident aliens for at least one full calendar year. Being a US citizen is a precious and extremely valuable commodity, we shouldnt be giving it away.

If they are picking chickens, they can stay. It would cost us more to bury the citizens who would rather starve to death than pick chickens.

Where do you see "amnesty" in the proposal?

I don't get this. Their work ethic is awful. They may work hard. They may work long hours. But the quality of the work is awful. What sort of ethic is that?

I can reluctantly support this if.....

require Congress to limit family sponsorship of immigrants to spouses and minor children

Nope. End it completely. Nothing at all.

end a visa lottery system for certain countries,

Not certain, end it entirely for all countries.

It's not amnesty, it's amnesty's non-union Mexican equivalent

So, uh, amnistia I guess

It's okay. They are all going to work hard to get to the polls and vote R now, apparently.

I could be on board as long as citizenship isn’t granted for, say, 15 years. Of course, if they break any additional laws during that period they are a gone pecan.

Also, no voting rights during the 15 year probationary period.

Mandatory two years civics and economics classes designed by the Foundation Of Economic Education, plus a minimum six months tour of duty in the U.S. Military.

Consequence of being caught illegally voting during that probationary period shall be: Hanging by the neck until dead.

Feel free to add to these stipulations.

I'd need to know that it won't flip any states blue. If not, I'm ok with it. Gotta give up something to get something.

Truth is we've needed Mexicans for a long time. Native born Americans won't do the jobs they do. They just won't (it's a fact). The question is how many do we need and what should the requirements be for their visas and/or a path to citizenship? I am fine with a 10-12 year probationary period with no serious criminal record and a stable work history.

However, we must build a wall and tightly control future immigration.

Don't know what I expected in this thread. If America makes it another 20 years, we will flourish after you fools die of some cause fit for a keyboard warrior. Now if Donnie would just give up on that dumb arse wall and negotiate for something worth a damn...
