I also believe that President Trump isn't talking about immediate citizenship, but rather a pathway to citizenship that will take years.

They should call it an orange card citizenship but no voting and no entitlements. You can however apply and go through he naturalization process and come out a full blown citizen like everyone else doing it the right way

All the Mexican trades guys on job sites do terrible work ?

In my experience, I've seen them, mechanics, and others cut corners a lot. They require constant supervision and cannot be trusted to do anything correctly. Every single bit of their work has to be reviewed. And, I've seen that they have zero problems showing up drunk, drinking on the job etc, no matter how important the job is, and yes it has been in greater proportion than rednecks or other Americans.

Also, what on earth gives any indication they take pride in anything they are a part of - the countries they are departing are shitholes - they are filthy, messy tenants - and the areas along the border that they congregate in, become garbage dumps - and they give zero fricks about the areas they go through, routinely placing huge amounts of litter in protected wildlife areas, stomping on rare plant life, dumping anything and everything into bodies of water they encounter, and so on.

Their only redeeming quality is that they work for cheap wages.

I've had multiple duty stations right next to the border. This is what I've seen.

Chucky Schumer has already said there is no money for the wall

And now he's got Trump offering dreamers a pathway to citizenship!

Sounds like Shutdown Schumer is schooling Trump on the art of deal.

Native born Americans won't do the jobs they do.

That's just an old urban legend.

Plenty of hard working unemployed Americans will do carpentry work, house painting, landscaping, house cleaning, cooking, farming, etc. if those jobs become available.

Need to see the requirements for their citizenship first but on the surface I don’t like this one bit.

I agree, but I think it may be, in part, Reuters ginning up anti Trump chatter. They are making it sound like a blanket decree. I doubt it.

This is the first statesman like move that he has made. The Dreamers should have a path to citizenship and he is trying to tie it to the wall and security. Three things that vast majorities want. The hard righters will grip but you have nowhere else to go.

It would also require Congress to limit family sponsorship of immigrants to spouses and minor children, end a visa lottery system for certain countries

I'll take it. This would be amazing.
