They can stay if they can provide proof of a family member (that is not an anchor baby) legally living in the US and that they have a job, car insurance and will be required to pay taxes...

And yes, they can't vote.

The Democrats can learn from this. This is how Trump negotiates if you give me something I'll give you something but if you are going to act like a spoiled child you will get your arse beat down in front of everyone.

I got no problem with giving in as long as we get the wall and the infrastructure funding.

What is this "American culture" you speak of...?

Classic negotiation. They go low he goes high. They should meet in the middle but lawyers are kind of dumb when negotiating so the dems will come out looking very bad. Just watch

Not good enough. No lottery unless those entered in it have been screened for acceptability.

Deporting every single illegal we can find would be much more of a deterrent than a wall. America is too nice, and that is our downfall. Political correctness is an agenda of the elite, I can't fathom how people can't understand that. Political correctness breaks down the sovereignty of nations. This current mindset was implanted with a specific purpose, a one government world.

Yeah I figure if a deal is making me go "hmmm... it depends" it probably isn't going to satisfy the hardliners

frick citizenship. They can never vote, and they can never bring anyone else into this country. They're only allowed to stay without being deported. One crime and over the walk they go.

Oh, and the wall needs to happen. frick a trust fund.

Limiting a non-citizen to only sponsor a spouse and minor children is the current law. What’s the change there?

Limiting the diversity lotttery to SOME countries? That does not sound merit-based to me.

We have been down this road in the 80s. One side got amnesty and the other got nothing. Everything that was agreed upon in return for amnesty was removed over time.

Please learn from the mistakes of the past. Put a clause in the agreement that not a single dreamer will become a citizen until the Wall is COMPLETED. Also, if any of the other parts of the agreement are nullified or overturned, then the legal residence status of all will be revoked and they will be deported. The law must have some teeth and consequences if it is not honored.

Lol it's gonna be glorious if this deal gets publicly sunk by House Republicans and drives Trump back into the arms of Chuck and Nancy

In general, most liberals are hesitant to publicly say they want a path to citizenship for illegals in this country. I think the general population will accept citizenship for the Dreamers, but not for the other 12, errrr, 30 million illegal immigrants in this country.

I still think that one of Hillary Clinton's biggest screwups that nobody talks about is when within the first minute or so of her acceptance speech at the DNC, she proclaimed that she would seek a pathway to citizenship for all illegal immigrants, while not mentioning any plans for increased border security. That really hit home with a lot of middle class workers. I know she has wanted that for a long time, but she played that card too soon. It wasn't time to start talking about amnesty for all illegals. She was trying to appeal to the Hispanic community, but I think that statement hurt her more than helped her.

This is their ultimate goal, as they want 30 million voters. I will take 1.8 million voters. If 75% of them vote Democrat, then that is a net of 900,000 votes. Many of those will be in California and New York, which doesn't game them anything.

I also believe that President Trump isn't talking about immediate citizenship, but rather a pathway to citizenship that will take years.
