I’d take his warning and leave. Get whatever they can for what they own and go. Consider themselves lucky to leave alive and with their freedom. You don’t live in a country that’s the equivalent of the ghetto in inner city Chicago and expect to keep your life intact. Lesson learned. The world isn’t fair. You can’t negotiate with these people like this man.

He said something about killing five of you if you kill one of us. That reminds of an Israeli doctrine I read about years ago that basically said if Arabs or Muslims kill one Israeli, Israel will kill 10 of them.

Those pictures look like many modern American cities with the befores taken in the early 60s and the second picture taken in the early 2000s.
Could be Baltimore, Jackson, Detroit or Birmingham.
