But Green Day has had staying power due to writing very catchy songs and putting on a good live show, not due to being contrived.
Ok.
He's OG punk.
Y'all happy?

BTW,
I don't know how many times I can say that and still have people act as though I've disagreed with it or said otherwise.
We're up to what? Four now?

He’s a rock legend?
They have like 2 good songs

They were contrived and designed to have lots of hits, sell millions of records, and play stadiums.
So, like every rock band of the 60s, 70s, and 80s who all dressed the same and acted the same? Or is it just a coincidence that all 80s rock stars wore leather and had long hair?
Every band that's been on the radio has been designed to sell.
The Beatles are widely considered the greatest band, yet they wrote songs simply to make money.
Paul:

We used to talk about writing a swimming pool. It was one of those between John and I. You know, you need a pool here. We'd better go and write it, ching ching ching, and we'd try and write hits for the things we needed or whatever.

Im not really a fan of Green Day’s music, but as far as Armstrong concerned- i thought this is what Magas wanted ? I thought they wanted celebrities to honor their word and get packing after Trump was reelected ? Not only is this guy leaving, he’s also renouncing his citizenship- explain to me the problem.. Downvote away, , but along with ur downvote it would be awesome if you could explain why you have an issue with him doing what yall wish most celebrities would do .

That dude dressed like a caricature of punk and wrote bubble gum pop tunes.
In his faux British accent.

I guess they’ll have to change the name of the band to Green Card when they tour here

He's a melodramatic fool. Neurotic to the bone, no doubt about it.
