Not to mention that the Healthcare mandate that Dems are screaming about in this Shutdown was created by Democrats and set to expire by Democrats at the end of 2025.

It still bothers me that while congress voted it into law for all of us, it exempted themselves.

Maybe if she had a brain she could associate the illegals getting free health care as a major factor with her insurance costs skyrocketing
bullshite - my health insurance premiums through my employer immediately skyrocketed the first year after barry-care was implemented - sure, illegals have contributed to the high premiums but that is not the primary driver for the ridiculous premiums.

Blame that fricker John McCain who cast the deciding vote to keep ObamaCare. He didn’t do it because he believed in it. He did it to spite Trump.. frick that guy to hell and back.

A bill so necessary at the time we didn’t know what was in it
The speaker of the house literally said we have to pass it to see what’s in it
These people are traitors

The middle class is hurting because we have to pay for everyone else's shite. It's that simple. We are taxed to death and insurance is unreal.
Done with freeloaders. We can't afford the ones we have and they are now fighting to put more on that are not even citizens.
Kick everyone off and start from scratch for only those that need it. Elderly and disabled. I don't care how many kids you got.

Just shows you how far gone MTG is now. The liberal guest cant believe he would ever say that he agrees with her on something
They were both correct.
Look, I’m all in favor of stigmatizing illegals as causing health care premiums to go up, but that is not anywhere close to the major cost driver. Bill Maher was right when he said that Americans are getting less and less healthy, and it’s becoming more expensive to treat them. That is the major driver. The other is that we now expect the gainfully employed to pay for the health insurance of the shiftless parasites. Some of those are illegals, but most are red, white and blue American shitheads.

It’s the small things that show Maher is turning a corner.
Not too long ago, he would have shut her down saying Obamacare is crushing people.
Now he sits back and genuinely asks, “Obamacare is what’s hurt them?”
I think it’s significant to see these small things in people that otherwise never would listen to counter arguments now actually being interested and engaged in “the other side.” (He still won’t vote R - openly at least, so I guess it’s a moot point

We are paying a fortune for rationed health care
Europe its "free" and rationed--come with higher taxes
but $20k for insurance is a tax as well

It sure was going up fast under those previous Presidents, but it went ballistic after the ACA.

Didn’t the penalty for not having coverage get throw out? Is there a private sector solution to this? What if people refused to participate in all of this and formed health care coops? Is there a legal obstacle to this?

Limousine liberal is clueless on when healthcare premiums exploded.
Shocker

This is a great example of elites being ignorant of the real world.
I bet Maher has no idea what he pays for insurance, of any kind. Somebody does that for him.

This point everyone seems to miss, except the guy sitting next to MTG, is that healthcare insurance isn't healthcare. Healthcare insurance, especially the ACA is a mask for the actual cost of healthcare.
When you subsidize something, you get more of it. The ACA doesn't subsidize healthcare, it subsidized the cost of healthcare. That money would be far better used to increase the amount of grants for medical and nursing school students (but the money would need to pass through the student, with the medical schools unable to ask if the student is getting assistance. This would feed the supply of medical professionals as the supply isn't coming even close to meeting the demand (and will get worse as Boomers continue needing more care).

Youre clueless
1) Illegals get free health care
2) They bring in infectious diseases that the US hasnt dealt with in forever. That drives costs up because citizens now have to access health care for these illnesses
3) Illegals have driven the need for urgent care centers, and the rules have changed to pay for them. You cant slam the ER with free care, and not expect the insured go unserved. So now youre staffing multiple UC centers in towns that used to have 1 maybe 2 ERs. Insurers are paying for that
Those costs are in the billions because there are 24M (reported) immigrants in the US

Completely untrue and you are factually incorrect. Insurance usually does increase from year to year but it increased dramatically after the ACA and increased exponentially since so no you don’t know what you are talking about. I have dozens of hospital staff under me and have since 07’. I know precisely how much insurance rates have increased because I deal with overhouse on a daily basis complaining about operating costs

When she says the Republicans still don't have a plan, she isn't wrong.

Everything you typed there is correct, except…

While all of that is true, it is still not the major driver, or even in the top two. You can fantasize all you want, but as Trump clears out the illegals, and gets rid of the extraneous social security numbers, we will still have unsustainable health care premiums. The illegals are a problem that should be addressed, but they are not THE problem.
