What a fricking scam. They do this shite right in front of our eyes without a care in the world about being held accountable. I don't know when but one day those evil fricks will pay.

These mosquitoes are going to demand a whole month to themselves, a flag, and your kids…

Hmm. This may be against the law in Florida. Mosquitos are aquatic invertebrates as they spend part of their life cycle in water. Then they can argue that these modified mosquitos are not native.

It is unlawful for any person to possess, transport or otherwise bring into the state or to release or introduce in the state any freshwater fish, aquatic invertebrate, marine plant, marine animal, or wild animal life that is not native to the state without a permit from the Commission…

Yeah like if it's so rare why the need to even do this, unless some kind of frickery was intended.

Testing grounds shouldn't be where it doesn't exist but where it does. Crazy evil shite.

Maybe we should be devising plans to take these people out instead of bitching about it on the internet. any ideas?

Oh this is a product now?

I watched a documentary a while back about how CRISPR works and how its being used in genetic engineering. CRISPR is segments of bacteria DNA that have encoding on being able to protect DNA changes from viruses. The CRISPR protien re-edits the virus sequence back or just takes it out. Since this discovery, genetic engineering has exploded. LINK

Scientists discovered they can use what's called a "gene drive". This encodes the CRISPR DNA segments into mosquito DNA to force a trait of sterility to new spawn. If the recessive trait for sterility is bread out, these organisms have the CHISPR protein to edit the recessive gene back in. Eventually new generations are all sterile males.

This falls under "just because you can, doesn't mean you should". Even in this documentary the scientist working on these mentions there can be an ecological impact but seemed to downplay it. Forcing the extinction of a species rather abruptly is going to impact ecosystems one way or another.

Many species or sub-species have gone extinct over hundreds of thousands or millions of years, but yes there is often something else that moves into the environmental niche.

In Maine all of the wolves were killed off, but the coyotes have interbred with large dogs and are now almost wolf sized.

These mosquitoes were released in Monroe County, Florida aka the Florida Keys by the Florida Keys Mosquito Control District. The implementation of this project was first approved unanimously by the five member board of county commissioners. Not a single democrat is currently one of the elected BOCC members.

The mosquitoes released are the NON-BITING male mosquitoes that reproduce female offspring that can’t survive. The project has been very successful.

I don’t know if Oxitec’s relationship with Gates is real, but the people in the Florida Keys have been very happy about the results. The pushback about the program initially was from the liberal voting residents.

The attempt to link Gates, mosquitoes, malaria, and the Monroe County project is something you’d expect from Alex Jones or the Q people.

That's kind of scary like a toddler playing with a gun or Wuhan Institute of Virology playing with a coronavirus.

Stop buying Microsoft products if you can.

Desktop linux is better than ever and can handle most basic computing tasks that people need with no advanced setup.

A woman from the Florida Keys went to Washington, DC to meet with elected officials to stop the release of the mosquitoes. While there she was found dead in the hotel swimming pool. She drowned in the pool in January. That really happened. The left ran with it for a bit, but then backed away because there was some evidence that it was a suicide and she had teenaged children.

These people are no better than trained monkeys. They have discovered tiny parts of vast and complicated systems, and they meddle with them recklessly, totally ignorant of unintended consequences and longterm downstream effects.

Here are a few links if you're interested:

Linux Mint
Ubuntu Desktop
Elementary OS

I'm a Linux Mint guy myself. Before you go wiping your computer away, those provided links should give you what's called a "Live CD"

Basically it boots into a useable environment giving you the option to install later if you want to. Keep in mind, installing it will wipe everything you have so think about that. You can use those distributions without actually having to install to test it out if you like it or not.

Otherwise, I suggest using in a virtual machine. Download VirtualBox which is a free hypervisor you can run in Windows. In that you can setup a Linux VM and use it as if it runs on its own hardware before deciding jumping to it full time.

I heard Bill Gates has information that will lead to the arrest of Hillary Clinton and Joe Biden. Hope nothing happens to him if they find out.

This does not even pass the sniff test. You genetically modify mosquitoes in the hopes of reducing malaria spread... By making these mosquitoes have difficulty reproducing? So what you are saying is, whatever modification you made to reduce malaria spread is going to be very difficult propagate because those carriers can reproduce as effectly. Am I missing something?
