What are you specifically referencing?
I don't think there are allegations that he lied to get warrants.

PR/TT only take a routine court order, not a warrant.
I don't know what PT/TT means, I just wanted to know whether what they did was illegal or not.
It's not, so I filed that under Things It's Very Unlikely That Anyone Can Do Anything About and moved on.

Nothing I've seen alleged with specificity is illegal behavior.
Improper? Maybe
Should be illegal (for everyone)? Definitely

Yeah, that's what I said.
I didn't say it was not legal. I said it was not illegal.

My comment was supplementing your prior post, not disagreeing with it

Pen register/trap and trace. They just need a court order. This is often used in criminal investigations. There’s no indication that a court order was not obtained.

Yep, got it.
Like I said, I just wanted to understand whether the OP was alleging illegal behavior or simply behavior he didn't like, or as SFP has said, behavior that should be illegal.
I'm good. I got my answer.
Thanks for the explanation of terms.

Stephen Miller becomes a less serious person every day.
I don't think he ever recovered from the embarrassment of the tariff ruling and the self-own involved.

He couldn’t find a winning legal argument on anything of substance if it walked into his bedroom and started sucking his dick.
He’s good at just this-riling up the base with buzzwords.

Smith never told the judges who the warrants were for. The buttkissers signed off .They sbould be disbarred for that and Smith should be jailed for lying to the court.
He deliberately deceived the judges claiming national security. B S.

Not at all amigo. Smith needed warrants to get Kevin McCarthys and all the other GOP ers phone records.
But you knew that dont play stupid. Smith withheld tbe identities of who he was going after and the crooks signed off anyway

Jack Smith Defends Subpoena of Republicans’ Phone Records in First Public Appearance Before Congress
quote:
Appearing before Congress in a public setting for the first time on Thursday, former Special Counsel Jack Smith offered a vigorous defense of his decision to subpoena the phone records of Republican lawmakers as part of his investigation into President Trump’s efforts to overturn the results of the 2020 election.
As part of his investigation, Smith subpoenaed service providers for the phone records of former House Speaker Kevin McCarthy (R., Calif.) and a group of Republican Senators. The toll records Smith acquired allowed him to see who the lawmakers were calling and who called them over a four-day period surrounding the January 6 Capitol riot, but not the content of those calls.
I think what you're trying to reference is this:
quote:
Republicans on the committee repeatedly pressed Smith on his decision to not only subpoena the toll records, but to seek non-disclosure orders from federal judges which barred the providers — AT&T and Verizon — from disclosing to lawmakers that their records had been handed over.
Which not only wasn't illegal, but didn't even violate DOJ policy at the time
quote:
The DOJ has since changed its policy to require that lawmakers be informed if their phone records are subpoenaed as part of an investigation.
