I would not be so sure about that. Explain tracking Kevin Mc Carthys calls. Didnt Smith mislead the judge to get that warrant? Omit info?
I think a Special Counsel is warranted here to probe the behavior of an out of control DOJ, FBI, Special Counsel and yes Administration that had zero issues with weaponizing the justice system to further their political agendas
A President guilty of the very thing he was trying to hang Trump for, and he gets a pass.

What is the illegality?
You can argue forms or impropriety, but I don't see the illegality. The deck is stacked for law enforcement/prosecutors.

But why have an independent special counsel when Trump can just direct his DOJ and FBI to do what he wants?

They should just do what Tish is doing. Threaten everyone in their inner circle with retribution of they dont turn over or destroy the evidence of their wrongdoing.
