There’s no rules or laws that have stopped Democrats yet this current century.

They’ll get around it.

This makes zero sense… they haven’t had their convention to make him the nominee, how can their ballots be locked?

Until the delegates give their approval, there is no nominee.

Not sure how that’s possible before the convention

IF this were true and Biden is still on the ballot in those states, the Biden delegates elected would simply vote for the official Dem nominee in the electoral college. Remember, in a presidential election, you aren't voting for the candidate, you are voting for electoral college delegates. There would be massive campaigns in both states to let their voters know that a vote for Biden would be a vote for [whoever the actual nominee is].

State laws can say what they want. The states don't have to wait for the DNC.

Lawsuits galore by the Dems challenging this, the Ohio ballot, etc

AOC brought this up (I posted a thread about it). The problem is going to be these lawsuits getting bounced up until they hit the Supreme Court. Guess who’s got the majority there?

When have rules ever mattered? They’ll find a way around it. Hell, even if it’s illegal.

• Nevada: no changes can be made to the ballot after 5 p.m. on the fourth Friday in June of an election year or 'a nominee dies or is adjudicated insane or mentally incompetent
How is that possible when the dems didn't have a nominee for the general yet? What if this was a closely contested primary and the winner wasn't apparent by that date?

They will find a way to get it done. This quote is from the Wisconsin governor..

quote:

Democratic Gov. Tony Evers released a statement calling Biden “one of—if not the most—well-accomplished presidents of my lifetime.”

“President Biden’s decision today doesn’t change the fact the choice remains clear this November. Donald Trump wants to be a dictator on day one,” Evers said. “There is much work ahead of us, and Wisconsin Democrats and I will spend every moment of every day for the next 107 days working to defeat him.”

So what do those state laws say? What is the indicator of who goes on the ballot if it’s not the convention?

Yes, but would a vote for Biden be added to a vote for Harris?

Who wins the state if Trump beats both individually?

That won’t happen. Since when do Democrats care about laws

Never underestimate the Democrats ability to ignore rules, law, Constitutions and cheat their asses off.

No clue. However, if state law says by a certain date then it is incumbent on the party to have the convention before that date.

Not only is there a conservative majority on SCOTUS, but this was done as a strategy by the Dems, not Joe just dropping out from out of nowhere.

Those laws would take into account death, disability, etc, but not a party coup.

Y’all act like they didn’t change all the voting rules last second in 2020 because of muh covid.
Yeah, activist judges did that, not legislation. I don’t think they will be able to do that this time around. (I hope my opinion is correct ??)

How would a srate be able to predict the nominee in a closely contested primary? That makes no sense and is either being misinterpreted or just grasping by Heritage.
