I’m OK with giving it a try as long as you have an exit if it doesn’t pan out. When you have a plan based on one set of information and new facts and information present themselves you would be a poor leader to not adjust your plan to new realities.
That’s pretty much where I stand, I had no problem intervening, not considering how then chess board would shape up is an embarrassment and honestly one of the biggest foreign affairs blunders in the history of this country.

The US Government accomplished nothing but wasting time, money and lives by engaging Iran in a disastrous unwinnable war
Fixed it for you. The US Israel Iran War was the worst military snafu since Vietnam. The MOU provided an off-ramp from what was certain to become the worst economic catastrophe in world history.

And just like that Shapiro is welcomed back to the newly formed leftist / never Trump coalition of the PT board. So predictable
Plot twist: some of us may think the MOU doesn’t look good while simultaneously not liking Shapiro. Blow your mind with that one.

You’re forgetting the twenty years of forever war that got your hero elected

I’ll take the off ramp. Digestible failure vs major failure.
But $300B to the regime no matter where it came from is going to rebuild their military just fine. And they still have their leadership and nuclear facilities.
Israel gains their cover for their military campaign. And the US gains nothing.

Bad deal for Israel?
Bad deal for the world. Worst of all, Iran will have a nuclear weapon at some point. They have nothing that can stop them now, not even the US military.
The rest of the bad stuff includes: Hezbollah and their other terror proxies remaining, the MOU does nothing to their ballistics missiles/drone programs, we don’t get their uranium, they are only not allowed to toll ships for 60 days then can do whatever they want from a toll standpoint, and finally they get billions in sanctions relief.
It’s an utter trainwreck. We legitimately lost the war. Iran came out in a much better position. The MOU provides NOTHING advantageous for the USA and everything advantageous for Iran.

That “digestible failure” is going to be a thorn in the side of the world for a long, long time. Maybe not now or even in 5 years, but you can bet your arse that they will be much more of a threat in 10-15 years.
The only hope is that Israel takes matters into its own hands.

They’re going to blame Vance for this when by all accounts he was the single administration official to push back on Trump at the onset of the war

Not even close.
Iran 2026: An honest try to knock out a thuggish regime who deserves it. As events unfolded and the true cost revealed itself and it was clear the people would not support it, an exit plan was executed that kept cost at an acceptable level while still delivering a severe bloody nose.
Vietnam: An honest try at knocking out communism. As events unfolded and it became clear that the cost would far exceed what the people would support there was no smart exit but instead a stubborn double down that eventually achieved nothing but at 100 times the cost that an early exit would have.
We all wish LBJ would have been as wise.

He’s a fricking Jew first. He would criticize any agreement where the Jews don’t get exactly what they want (making the entirety of Iran a parking lot and killing everyone in it) and say it was a "disaster."

Someone, Bill O'Reilly I think, said Israel won't like it.

I haven't looked into the deal but if true, What was Trump thinking?
Posted on 6/17/26 at 5:57 pm to TrueTiger
Shapiro has literally said that Trump should just pull away completely from the conflict and let Israel do what they want and let whatever countries affected by the strait deal with the consequences since the US is not dependent on oil from it.
How is this regime change?
How is this regime change?

If this ungrateful SOB can't appreciate what America has done, tell Israel to freaking do it themselves.
Put YOUR blood on the sand.
