But el Gaucho said
"They’re like the 50s us because everyone has a good factory job with a pension, everyone can afford a house, the women don’t have to work, and diversity is illegal"
So what you posted must be a lie.

In China, the average gas-powered car is 8.1 years old, and the electric one is 1.8 years old.

AI isn’t profitable, but being pushed “to beat America”. Just like much of the propaganda is here but to beat them. Not sure what it is AI is supposed eventually do other than improve the surveillance state, there and here.
Their stock market has lost a lot. Chinas socialism to benefit only the state will not end well, especially if we continue to squeeze them out of the world markets.
Though their cars really are everywhere. We better make sure they are never allowed across our borders because they are mapping the world in case they need it for an invasion.

I'm not sold on it until I hear a denial from IBChinaman.

Remember biden stating that he was putting tariffs on chinese made cars. He wasnt lying it was "chinese made" cars.
He knew full well BYD was planning to build a massive plant in Mexico to export to the US under NAFTA.
Trump stopped that.

China does not care if their domestic market for EVs is failing … doesn’t matter.
As long as the carbon credit grift is still kicking, China has a ready-made, hungry market for its cheap, disposable BYD EVs.
BYD is, in essence, not a car per se’, ….. but a mechanism to generate a carbon credit certificate that can be sold to other car companies.
It’s the carbon credit certificate that generates the Chinese revenue, not the sale of the vehicle.
quote:
The bottom line is that China is manufacturing a product to create a carbon credit certificate in response to the demand for carbon credits from all the world auto-makers. Any nation that has a penalty or fine attached to their climate goals is a customer. Those are nations with fines or quotas associated with the production of gasoline powered engines if the auto company doesn’t hit the legislated target for sales of electric vehicles.
China is taking over multiple, shuttered Canadian auto manufacturing facilities and announced plans to build BYDs in Canada … clearly destined for the US market.

Zombie companies, companies operating at a loss have doubled since 2018 to 30%.
They crow that exports have increased, what they dont tell you is that they have had to cut prices so much to get around mounting tariffs across the world that they are losing money just to keep the lights on and people employed.
Youth unemployment, the true number is close to 20%. China govt figures are a "survey" and only urban areas.
chini is now in a deflationary economy and risks falling into a Japanese style loss of two decades due to their extremely high debt.
Regarding AI and the new frontier. The US dwarfs chini in spending, estimates range from 7 to 10 times as much.
The spend is close to 900 billion, in addition there is another 4 trillion in "dry powder" money secured but not yet spent for capital projects in the US much of it AI and the rest traditional manufacturing.
Internally Xi opponents are screaming to stop the spending on AI and invest in fixing the horrible real estate sector and work on youth unemployment.

The problem is an elderly population. Its like 4 working people to 1 retiree and getting worse. And young folks aren't having kids because housing due to a popped over building bubble and a huge retired population consuming resources.
Out of curiosity, do we know what the ratio is in the US?
I'm a tail end Boomer (66) who just retired. I know there is a huge population of retired Boomers that are older than me.

Our tariffs are not just chinese made cars but any car, car parts, assembled cars, or anything else.....that is owned by chinese companies.
That bullshite of "assembled in Canada" when they put a hubcap on a car aint gonna work this go round. And even when they make it there, it aint gonna work.

The car thing is a big deal
Xi been trying to get their cars sold here for years and we’ve blocked it. Europe has them all over. We don’t.

Now do population of gas cars and population of electric cars.
Otherwise the numbers are meaningless.

Don't forget their young people are not marrying and therefore women are not making babies. Plus their one child policy is backfiring bigtime.
Happening all over the world actually. Russia is giving couples monetary incentives to have babies. Except maybe part of the reason for their stunted population growth has more to do with the fact that Ukraine - Russian war is grinding up young people like hamburger.
Not to be outdone here in America our population growth has flatlined. The Mafia Democrat Party has so aborted their growth (literally) they're fighting to elect candidates who support opening our southern border to let in everyone. Fighting as in scheming for ways to register these illegal aliens to vote and sneak them into our elections.
I heard a report the other day on the radio that in 2025 out of 1000 women of child bearing age only 54 had babies. Only 54.
Wanna see what the collapse of a country looks like? Keep an eye on those demographics.

Agreed ..... but they don't care. Its all a big carbon credit sham ....
Personally, I believe the Chinese are pulling the strings (they are the biggest benefactor) and they're banking on future US government corruption (Dems in power) to deliver what they need.

Demographics are a bitch. Chickens have come to roost for them. They're probably around 850 million people and dropping.
That one child law had a lot of unintended consequences leaving China with a whole lot of old people and too few working age people to carry the load.

Well-written / well-said.
I'm reading that 54 out of 1000 per year works out to about 1.6 children per woman lifetime, well below the 2.1 needed just for replacement.
Of course they always mention needing immigration to boost populations with low birthrates--NO THANKS.

Spot on, trinidadtiger. How someone downvoted is beyond me.
Fictious market manipulation, high unemployment for younger workers (and getting worse), $500 billion (equivalent US) evaporation from AI stocks.
China is getting their first taste of what it's like to manage a first world economy, while still responsible for a good portion (almost 35%) of it's population who live in tougher, rural conditions.
