Why can't we get these MIC companies into civil construction? America would have the most bad arse road and bridges in the world. But no we have to spend billions on making bombs instead of bridges.

And yet all you ever do is defend this clown administration.

Doesn't matter he sign an infrastructure bill. That's all that counts. Who cares about results.

I live by one of his "Biden infrastructure projects" which is just adding trees and fancy walls so that you can't see the ghetto from the dilapidated highway.

Did the bridge collapse due to it being in bad condition or bc a huge boat crashed into a load bearing piling?

100k+ tons moving at ~7.6 knots is a LOT of mass in motion. No manmade object is going to take that hot head-on without taking on lots of damage to itself.

The point of the post though is that this event is going to make people think about bridge infrastructure (at least until something else comes along to redirect media focus).

We have had multiple trillion+ dollar infrastructure bills over the last decade. I don't want to hear a fricking word about infrastructure.

Bootyjuice is getting up there and saying the design of the bridge is ((((RACIST)))... The design of the overhead was too low so busses full of Black and Latino children couldn't pass to get to the beach...
This shite is just comical...

The I-10 bridge over the Calcasieu River in Lake Charles, LA could go at any minute . . . without anything hitting it - it has a performance rating of 9 out of 100 and is one of the 10 worst bridges in America - thousands of cars travel across that bridge every day - it is horrifying to travel across it

The first thing I saw on this the article stated: "Biden on Bridge Collapse".

Totally misleading, fake news. Shitehead WASN'T on the bridge.

I was so hoping the story was true, but, unfortunately....

Biden infrastructure bill

I’d be willing to bet that the actual money for infrastructure is a small portion of that bill. Gotta figure out ways to keep that money flowing for all their DEI crap. We are probably also sending millions to countries that hate us. They like to do that

Yeah every democrat passes an infrastructure bill but somehow the money never makes it to the infrastructure.

most US bridges have a replacement value - tear it down and build new - of under 10 Million. We have sent 130 Billion to Ukraine, enough to replace 13,000 bridges in the US.

Scroll through the Alabama Letting page:

for constructing the Bridge Replacement and Approaches: $3,773,181
for constructing the Bridge Replacement on SR-14
$4,412,439
for constructing the Bridge Replacement on SR-7
$5,769,100
for constructing the Bridge Replacement on SR-14
$10,333,490
for constructing the Bridge Replacement and Approaches on CR-47 $4,832,040
