Baltimore bridge collapse brings up an important infrastructure topic

Look at how poor bridges in the U.S. currently are
https://infrastructurereportcard.org/cat-item/bridges-infrastructure/
So our infrastructure is falling apart but sleepy joe, the leftists, and rino war mongers are sending billions over to Ukraine while this country is being taken over by illegals and LITERALLY falling apart

Overview of Bridges?
There are more than 617,000 bridges across the United States. Currently, 42% of all bridges are at least 50 years old, and 46,154, or 7.5% of the nation’s bridges, are considered structurally deficient, meaning they are in “poor” condition. Unfortunately, 178 million trips are taken across these structurally deficient bridges every day. In recent years, though, as the average age of America’s bridges increases to 44 years, the number of structurally deficient bridges has continued to decline; however, the rate of improvements has slowed. A recent estimate for the nation’s backlog of bridge repair needs is $125 billion. We need to increase spending on bridge rehabilitation from $14.4 billion annually to $22.7 billion annually, or by 58%, if we are to improve the condition. At the current rate of investment, it will take until 2071 to make all of the repairs that are currently necessary, and the additional deterioration over the next 50 years will become overwhelming. The nation needs a systematic program for bridge preservation like that embraced by many states, whereby existing deterioration is prioritized and the focus is on preventive maintenance.
So our infrastructure is falling apart but sleepy joe, the leftists, and rino war mongers are sending billions over to Ukraine while this country is being taken over by illegals and LITERALLY falling apart

There's really a never ending supply of shite to blame Biden for, but he did pass the most comprehensive infrastructure in like 50 years, so this ain't it.

Has any infrastructure in the US been repaired with the Biden infrastructure bill?
Posted on 3/26/24 at 12:19 pm to theCAW
Noooo. This can't be. Obama's shovel ready jobs fixed this.

You left out a key word: “bill”
Infrastructure bill =/= infrastructure
Infrastructure bill =/= infrastructure

That’s why they have so many stupid theories and beliefs that are out of touch with the real world

This is analogous to the "if it starts a conversation" narrative the left always brings up when there is a gun incident or any other crisis
Are there bridges that are old in the US? Yes. Are there portions of the infrastructure that can be upgraded? Of course. But bridges collapsing aren't that common. And I doubt even a new bridge could survive a massive ship crashing into a support pillar.

Leftist ideology obviously. The topic should be:
Out of all of the bridges in the world today, why was the one named after the writer of THE STAR SPANGLED BANNER destroyed?

How much in that bill is going towards Trannies, Ukraine and "walkin around money" for Democrat votes?

Infrastructure Bill was a trillion, passed 2.5yrs ago, and Biden was at the Baltimore port when he talked about it and specifically mentioned upgrades.
Don't worry though, Amtrak is slated to get $66B from this bill, in addition to billions they get each year from DOT. Everything is going to be fine. Democrats totally intended for this money to actually be used for infrastructure and not as a money laundering mechanism.

It is very weird because Biden is obsessed with bridges but hasn’t accomplished any change. Baltimore is also a very corrupt city. However I do believe this is an accident and just another embarrassment for the US.

Of course there will be no accountability for where that money goes.

I'm fairly sure they've started something like 40,000 projects.. I don't know if any are finished.

That ain't migrants. They're illegals. But I agree. Piss on Joe Xiden and all the stupid MFer's that voted for the pedophile.

Im not sure how, but bridge collapses are racist and a symbol of white privilege.

The bridge obviously didn’t complete its online government diversity training

That "infrastructure bill" was in name only. A very small percentage of that is supposed to go to anything legitimately helping our "infrastructure". Most of it is going to fund the infrastructure of other countries.

serious question, is a bridge supposed to be able to withstand a huge cargo ship crashing into it? Did the bridge collapse due to it being in bad condition or bc a huge boat crashed into a load bearing piling?

So did Obama. For the reasons listed in the OP.
Also, there was a 2 Trillion bill passed almost 5 years to the day that the Democrats fought for. For the same reasons in the OP.
Now Biden has passed another one for the reasons in the OP.
So bottom line…. “Infrastructure” bills keep being passed…. But the infrastructure continues to decay.
How many Trillions have been spent since 2009? And we still have these multitude of problems?
So where’s the money going?

Are there new bridge designs that allow massive cargo ships to crash into its support pillars without destroying the bridge, out there?
Or... are support pillars a thing of the past in new bridge designs ?
I'm not being rhetorical. I genuinely don't know shite about bridge plans, past or present.
