Cops aren't obligated by law to protect anyone. That's what we heard when local Democrat politicians deliberately forced their police forces to stand down and as chaos happened in Baltimore and Charlottesville a few years ago.

The Capitol is protected by Capitol Police (Governor Controlled) and State Patrol. I don't know if the Georgia State and Georgia Tech police are Atlanta controlled or controlled by the Universities.
