Pompeo, Milley and other JCS took military action and then went to Florida and told Trump. I trust no one at this stage.

I feel confident they'll have that figured out before we all know what's going on, and whatever it is will bw amicable and with a future plan in mind. And look, I'd let Ron Desantis father my grandchildren as much as the next guy, but lest we forget, Desantis hasn't exactly had to deal with a viscous enemy legislative branch like Trump had to do. Yes, even oftentimes with his own party members. So I have nothing but the highest of hopes and expectations for Desantis, whenever his time may be, but he's not near the proven commodity that Trump is. My most ideal situation would be Trump for 4 years with Desantis as VP, then Desantis for 8 more. 12 years of Trump and Desantis at the helm should shake things up in a very good way.

I'm not pulling for him. I'm holding out waiting for sentrius or hhtm to post some bleeding heart urgent thread about how Liz Cheney or mittens are the best Republicans to save the country.

DeSantis has the high IQ and confidence of a self-made man who graduated with honors from Yale and Harvard Law and just oozes a quiet macho attitude and discipline that shows he knows when its necessary to punch back 10 times harder and when it's not.

In contrast, Trump reeks of Nixonian insecurity & resentment while lacking Nixon's intelligence and will be completely deplatformed and 78 years old and much less sharper in 2024.

You're a maroon if you think the latter is a good idea to prosecute the case against Joe Biden and Kamala Harris.

DeSantis 2024. Make America Florida.

What's Desantis' resume reflect in terms of experience with the type of indescribable adversity and political violence he would encounter with the Democrats in Washington D.C.? A few scrums with a reporter here and there? Great guy, but he's not yet in Trump's league as far as weathering that type of torment is concerned. That's like half the job these days, just weathering that constant barrage. Weathering the torment with one hand, being President with the other.

Actually he did not.

Resoundingly so.

Trump had the right ideas and right instincts but he lacked the necessary skills to be the transformational President conservatives wanted him to be like Ronald Reagan was.

Trump needed things like institutional knowledge, discipline, tact, patience and competency and he was sorely lacking in all of those areas.

Rd should pull all the trump votes in 2020 plus all the people who thought trump was too mean(bitches).

Anyone backing any candidate other than DeSantis in 2024 is essentially helping the Democrats.

He's easily the most electable. He's the best debater, the most intelligent, the most articulate, and he is smart enough to not fall into the media's traps and step on his own dick like Trump often did. He also doesn't alienate suburban voters, particularly suburban women, like Trump does, let alone have the baggage that Trump does.

In 2016 and 2020 there were over 5 million voters who voted for at least 1 down-ballot Republican but didn't vote for Trump. These voters are Republican and Republican-leaning Independents who are not members of the Democratic coalition, but couldn't stand Trump's conduct and rhetoric. They would've voted for literally any Republican other than Trump. I live in a suburb and I know several of these voters. Nearly all of them would vote for DeSantis over Harris, Biden, or whoever.

2024 is too important to gamble on an old as frick candidate like Trump or a younger candidate who is not electable nation-wide, like Ted Cruz. If we lose in 2024 then we hand 2028 over to the Dems on a silver platter as well. DeSantis is also too bright of a star to stay on the sidelines in 2024 and then be trotted out as a sacrificial lamb in 2028 against an incumbent Democrat.

It all comes down to this: Do y'all want to win or lose? Put away your feelings and look at the data and use logic. If you want to win, then DeSantis is easily the best bet.

This.

Those that deny it are sticking their head in the sand.

He could be very good in one on one interviews like this;
LINK

Unfortunately that is not the norm.

There is no reason he couldn't have toned down the rhetoric while still pushing forward the policies he advanced. Without the over the top twitter blasts, among other things, he still would have kept all of his loyal voters as long as he followed through on his campaign promises and would not have turned off millions of voters.

Good grief. I hate to say it, but that's some of the weakest sauce ever. Was he seriously supposed to just turn the other cheek? All day, every day? How weak that would come across. Trump never gratuitously "attacked" anyone, the vast majority of the time it was merely in response to his first being attacked. There's no way he would have had the capabilities to run the gauntlet and accomplish a single thing had he been a feckless person like that.

And can anyone cite off the top of their head even one memorable:mean tweet" like what's referenced so often? Should be easy to spout off at least 5 without even thinking if it was that big a deal.

It's unfortunate. I've posted the numbers from 2016 and 2020 of Trump vs. down-ballot Republicans in the big counties of several states, including those that Trump won. Trump routinely underperforms down-ballot Republicans, especially congressional Republicans in the suburbs. I've even linked to the certified votes on the county websites from 2016 and 2020, and I've gotten down-voted to hell.

Facts don't care about your feelings, folks. Stop being pussies and look at the data. I'm doing this because I want to fricking win and want you to see that Trump has a huge suburb problem that he is never going resolve. It's time to move on.

How do you even get exit poll data in a situation like 2020 when there aren't the folks there exiting to poll, given the fact that so many were said to have voted absentee? I need to be learned on this.

But I do say, sir. That's not how a gentleman is supposed to act. It's uncouth, I say. Plain uncouth. It's not fitting to go into a crowd of politicos and pundits swinging. We should all focus on unity and compromise in this great nation. Besides. Everyone knows Republicans are all Nazis.

These clowns. Mean tweets. That's all they got.
