Nothing inherently wrong with it. The issue is

pilot that is still undergoing major revisions

And

Without clarity

Unfortunately most people will just see the clickbait headline.

When did this happen?

A couple weeks ago, Shakespeare’s plays were including in the list of banned books for the upcoming school year. Apparently high school students are going to be allowed to read excerpts from the plays with all the references to sex taken out, and seniors can use the saved time to go to Mons Venus

Florida didn’t nix AP African American studies. They nixed the revised version that included LGBTQIALMNOP+[*%* history, which really has no place in African American history.

The state has not banned Shakespeare

Same reason no one thinks they should study the Detroit Lions to find out how to create a powerhouse Super Bowl dynasty.

For someone with this username, it's pathetic what you wrote.

Shakespeare is still being taught. Period. Just not the entire books containing sexual descriptions

In fact, the entire work of Shakespeare was never covered in Florida schools.

SHS is one of the few people that I truly believe can weather whatever amount of shite they choose to fling at her. She got her dad's political brain and savvy but she doesn't have the "nice guy" personality that restrained him all too often.

No, shite. He wrote (or co-wrote) 38 plays. There’s no school in America that is teaching all of them. Maybe like a special Shakespeare school, but certainly not a normal one. But not teaching kids Hamlet, or Macbeth, or Romeo and Juliet because there is sexy stuff is embarrassing. You should be embarrassed by that

You have to think Asa is going to blurt something uneducated out about this.

Asa is probably furiously crying into his Bud Light over this. What a douche.

That being said, give me a Desantis/Huckabee-Sanders ticket in 2028 after all the Trump hysteria goes away please

The Arkansas Department of Education released a statement Monday saying the course is still in the pilot stage and can not be accepted until revisions are finalized.

It sounds like they are just properly vetting the curriculum to make sure it’s not another Trojan horse. If only we did this with politicians.

I’d be,fine with African American studies as long as they include the truth about the Democratic Party-party of slavery,Jim Crow, founders of KKK,etc.

It would be nice to highlight the accomplishments of great black Americans such as George Washington Carver, the Tuskegee airman,Dr.Ben Carson and others.

Might instill a sense of pride and counter the Dem propaganda that blacks can’t accomplish anything because “whitey” is going to oppress the black race.
