Everyone is prejudiced towards different things and people tend to prefer to be around others like them. In that respect, were we ever really unsegregated?
If you’re referring to racial tensions and forced segregation, that’s another subject altogether.

Neighborhoods are segregated by your ability to pay for your home.
One of my buddies says the most desegregated place in America is prime time network TV. All of the families are mixed race. I don't watch network TV so I just take his word for it.

Appears so with many people being offended by what someone other than the "offended" says. Safe zones, certain races promoting "our race" only mantras, etc. Schools and jobs will no doubt stay desegregated but the populace itself, seems to be headed that way. Assimilation is the epitome of desegregation imo but I don't see a positive sign of that happening any time soon.
