Are we headed back to being a segregated nation?

Appears so with many people being offended by what someone other than the "offended" says. Safe zones, certain races promoting "our race" only mantras, etc.
Schools and jobs will no doubt stay desegregated but the populace itself, seems to be headed that way. Assimilation is the epitome of desegregation imo but I don't see a positive sign of that happening any time soon.

Well sure, there are people on both sides that get upset at nothing.
But there are certainly some things going on in our country that are worthy of garnering disapproval and resentment.

It is what the Democrats and the MSM want, but if you actually live in a diverse area, which many of the posters here do, you know what reality is.

We will only become a segregated country if "progressives" get their way. Hell, they are quite upfront about it, wanting black only this and black only that.

What's sad is that the new generation couldn't care less about race. My stepdaughter only dates black guys ( loves the BBC). My 25 yr. old son's girlfriend has a kid from her black ex. My 18 yr. old's best friends look like Angelina Jolie's kids - practically evey kid in his group is a different race. Yet the media and libs want to drive a wedge through society.

My son, who is 10, has had a really good friend that is a girl for two years now... I went to the Veteran's Day breakfast with him last Thursday and the little girl was there and he insisted that we sit with her and her mom (her mom is a Veteran also)... The conversation was pleasant and all smiles but on Friday, my son gets a text from the little girl telling him she could not be friends anymore because her mom did not like her being friends with his "kind"...
My son was absolutely devastated and I had to have one of those conversations with him that I should not have had to have until he was much older, if ever...

I think it would be better for both sides. White culture and black culture trying to assimilate is the mother of square peg in a round hole.

As long as the segregation is voluntary and not state mandated, then I think it would be a good thing.
Some people would reject others, some would accept others, and there would be very few reasons to have any violent conflicts.

There will always be segregation of the extremes...Hood vs traditional 'Redneck'(White) Americans (no-go-zones)...but the Middle - with minor bumps - will continue their progress forward...toward relegating the color of one's skin in regard to the innate value of one's character...as being irrelevant in judgments therein.

Apparently "white" and "southern" but quite honestly, I do not have a clue what triggered the text or the comment of "kind"...
It was a difficult conversation, especially trying to figure out what "kind" my 10 yo son is and then explain it to him in a manner that he understands... Right now, he understands there are two "kinds" of people in this world and that is "stupid" and "not stupid"...
Also, I am certain there are plenty of my "kind" that have told their kids the same thing this lady told her daughter in reverse... So, I know racism cuts both ways...
