China is planning on taking over the world in 50 years and they make decisions based on that longterm goal. America worries about yesterday and today, assuming the future will work itself out.

We are in serious trouble if we don’t change our nation’s mindset.

The Navy probably needs a few more weeks to complete diversity training.

China makes claims about military capabilities that turn out to be bullshite time after time. They've got one, one, somewhat operational aircraft carrier. Their latest LHD caught fire last year sitting in their shipyard and their other diesel aircraft carrier broke down on a test swim and had to be towed back. Nothing they have can launch heavy combat ready aircraft either, what is a long range missile going to do when the boat that's carrying it is being attacked by fighter jets launched even further away?

Just wait until you read about Russia’s nuclear powered, nuclear-armed, long range torpedos.

Our military knows about these. The problem is are our countermeasures effective?

It took 4 weeks of bombing the USS America during a sinkex operation and we still had to scuttle the ship. They took data from that and applied it to the Ford class.

There won't be a boat carrying it. Anti-ship ballistic missiles are land based and extremely long ranged. The issue is that (assuming these missiles work), US carriers could be destroyed before they were in the effective range for their aircraft to strike targets in China. In other words, carrier strike groups would be too vulnerable to even get close enough to the combat zone to be of any use.

Carriers are 1922 tech. They are good against less abled opponents but ducks in the water vs top grade militaries.

I used to think that our military leadership was on top of things like this, evaluating the enemy’s weapons and tactics, etc.

And then they went woke, and abandoned Bagram before getting our citizens out, etc.

It doesn’t look good.

You put way too much faith in what the Chinese put out.

I don't put any faith in what the Chinese put out. That's why I said "assuming these missiles work." In an earlier post I mentioned that it is very difficult to track and hit a moving target in the vast ocean with a ballistic missile.

China's anti-ship ballistic missiles may turn out to be worthless. But it won't be because US warplanes attack Chinese ships outside of the missile's range.

There was nothing in that article other than speculation on ways to get around the problem of targeting at the end of the run. Something that thus far, nobody has managed. This system is the Chinese pulling Reagan's Star Wars trick on us trying to spook our public with something that's not actually there. Sure you can fire the things, but until you can demonstrate that you can actually hit a ship with it that's in motion and maneuvering, this is fear porn for the US public.

Do we have anything in our closet or in development to neutralize or equalize this threat?

Short answer: in development and testing at White Sands, China Lake and Vandenberg.

Carrier battle groups are no longer effective against near peer engagements as has been proven in war games with allies.

Sonic-schmonic. What is a super sonic anti-ship missile next to the power of a diverse and inclusive military? Better get your priorities straight, mister!
