No we can't.
One is a privilege, the other is a right under the 2A. It's not hard to understand for people who have no agenda.
If the highway system was private, the government wouldn't have a say.

Ever notice you can drive offroad vehicles with no license and no registration(some municipalities require, but far from all)?
This is only required when you bring a vehicle on a government supplied roadway.
Want to drive without registration or license? Build your own road. You would be totally legal

How have we allowed the state to license (tax) our rights back to us and 90% of the bootlickers feel grateful about it?
Any license that you are forced to get from a city, state, county, or federal gov't is a limitation on your freedom.

Far from the truth. Very far. I would argue many are, but a DL is not one of those.

Brake tags are a ridiculous money grab by the state police.
We won't miss you by the way when you move to your next shithole.

Your argument is quite elementary, which is expected.
US citizens can indeed move about the US freely. One does not need a driver's license to do so and the intention of a driver's license has nothing to do with this.
A driver's license is required for someone that wants to operate a vehicle on public roadways. It shows that at least the license holder was able to pass a test on the rules of the road and a driver's test. Many states also require proof of liability insurance to get a license. We all should agree that there should be some minimums if one wants to participate in the operation of a motor vehicle, along with insurance to protect other drivers from the license holder's mistakes.
The government is not intruding on our lives at all. One does not have to drive a car or have a driver's license at all. One elects to participate and to protect society as a whole, there should be some standards associated with it.

DL - Not a big deal
Registration - okay, need to know who a car belongs to along with rear tag.
Front license plate - No just unnecessary, interferes with cooling, and ruins the aesthetics of some vehicles.
Registration & Fees updated yearly - No that's just horseshite
Inspection - Major PITA to have some sub 100 IQ oil change dude tell me what I already know.
Registration on Trailers - Having to update my registration on a small utility trailer annually and pay fees that are almost as much of my truck which sees 50x as many miles, is beyond ridiculous.
Paying Sales Tax on a Used Vehicle - This makes absolutely no sense, especially when vehicles purchased when another is traded in get a break. Buy from an individual and you get full double taxation.

Only if it interferes with a constitutional right.. IE: license to own a gun.. Big ole negative for me..
Now, proving you have at least some ability to keep a car on the road and not kill anyone is completely different imho...

In Texas for example gun deaths slightly out number deaths related to vehicle accidents. It's so slight that I'm sure some years the vehicle accidents outnumber the gun deaths.
I really hate when people include suicides in the context of the gun debate. Don't you?

If we could teach people that passing lanes are for ...well, passing, then I believe they would be worth it.
For now they are good only to prevent underage drinking.
