Are there tests to own guns?

Now we get to the root of this disingenuous and duplicitous post: framing a privilege as a right and vice versa and using language to paint them as equal to one another. You can never get right to your point, but most see right through your bullshite.

Not the idiotic driving license vs. gun ownership crap again. When will you people absorb that this is a complete false equivalence.

Clear your mind… breathe deep… exhale… and open your mind.. now read slowly…

Driving is a PRIVILEGE. Gun ownership is a RIGHT.

There is no amendment that says you may have a driver’s license followed by “shall not be infringed”. None. You are free to look.

People…this is the same person who actually believes handing out reparations will make society harmonious. She believes this. Ask her. But don’t mention the squandering of billions nationally by BLM. She will scamper away.

I will say this: having 4 kids go through the system to get a driver's license in today's world is more drawn out and costly than it has to be. It was a 1-day deal when I was a teenager.

Now, they have to

1. get a TIP card ($),

2. sign up for driver's ed at an approved school ($$),

3. go through multiple stages of hands-on driving with an instructor to be scheduled around all the other events of life,

4. then pick up their sealed approval letter from instructor to bring to DMV or title company,

5. then get their actual license ($).

This process takes months+ and several hundred dollars. In my case, this was x4.

End result on the road doesn't seem to be much different than when I was given a booklet to study/memorize and walked in and out of the DMV with my license on my 15th birthday in 1987.

It's like everything "government" - designed to be a jobs program for Democrats and as inefficient and costly as possible for everybody.

We focus on government spending as a percent of gdp but the true measure of the cost of government includes all the ways government compels individuals and businesses to spend money and invest time. I'd like to know what this true cost of government is.

A case maybe could have been made for this argument when this country was mostly high IQ whites. You cant apply the same ideals in a country with a large percentage of third world retards. Yes we need to have requirements for driving cars

I follow your premise and I reject it. It's the same as having a medical license or a contractors license. It's a way for the government, state government, not federal, to protect the populous against people that supposed to be doing such things.

It used to be that way. It was usually taught by coaches in the summertime. I lost track of when and how it changed since it didn't really affect me until I had kids of my own.

It's almost shocking at this point that Orleans Parish still sells these to anyone.

I'm going to give the original post the benefit of pointing out that it's really close to a solid discussion point. A better one related to driving would have been to discuss the fact that traffic laws have completely morphed into simply being a solid method for getting around the 4th amendment.

THAT would be a far more interesting discussion

Highly debateable. Cars kill far more annually.

The actual statistics show the numbers are typically quite close year to year for each (both hovering somewhere around the 40-45,000 range in annual deaths). As others have alluded, however, cars generally cause much more other damage overall (injuries, property damage, etc.) than guns.

You’re driving on publicly funded roads. I love watching the YT videos of sovereign citizens dumbasses tell cops they’re traveling not driving for commercial purposes. They turn a traffic ticket into multiple felonies and usually get tazed or pepper sprayed too boot.
