So, you are willing to sacrifice your business so that some drug addicts will have a job in a tequila shop. Thats very noble of you.

Unfortunately there’s a substantial number of idiots in this nation who would gladly go ahead and watch the U.S. fall into complete chaos before they’d give up their cheaper goods.

Most are small businessmen, who benefit from this kind of trade.

Trumps plan will benefit massive corporations.

Avocados are grown in the US, too. Tequila is gross and tastes like the smell of burnt rubber. Apologies to the tequila fans, but spiced rum for the win.

What other stereotypical Mexican products are in jeopardy from Trump's tariffs? The American vehicle manufacturers Ford and GM that build their vehicles south of the border? Would sure be a shame if they moved production back to Michigan.

We can deport them using the “Avocados from Mexico” jingle.

Just imagine that...

So you would rather the crime, drugs and burden on Americans taxpayers for a fresh fruit occasionally ?

The crime and drugs are a demand created on the American side. You can bomb Mexico into oblivion and new suppliers would show up overnight.

The war on drugs is a failure, will always be a failure and an expensive one at that.

Avocados and tequila (talking about the standard stuff that Americans use in margaritas) are dirt cheap anyway. Putting a tariff on those things are not going to slow consumption one bit.

Though Amazon might have trouble with the changes coming soon.

Mexico can keep all their avocados, tequila and shitty beer.

I've gone without avocados for 80 of my 86 years, and have consumed about half a fifth of tequila, and perhaps several dozen 6-paks of Dos Equis.

I can drudge on quite nicely with continued abstinence.

I just think people are over reacting to tariffs.

You can make tequila in the states too.

Mexico is just as much the problem with human smuggling. They allow it to flow through their country. So I don’t really care if I never see Mexican tequila at the stores again.

As I’ve said for years here now: we import a lot more food from Mexico and other countries than you guys realize. I worked in this industry for a long time. Meat, veggies, fruit, nuts…. It goes on and on. The US is an absolute powerhouse but for most crops it is seasonal and transitions with the weather. As far as avocados go we don’t produce anywhere near what Mexico does.

Kind of like Carlos Marcello and the Pelican Tomato Company or the Corleone Family with Genco Olive Oil.

Why do you hate your fellow Americans so much that you would deprive them affordable food?
