The Cartels control the avocado industry. It’s how they “clean” their drug money.

There aren't going to be any tariffs is Mexico actually does what it should be doing and stopping the migration rather than monitors it to frick is even worse.

The threat of the economic sanctions just have to outweigh the positives they get.

I'm sure it will be a much larger net negative.

Cali also grows a lot of avocados and can grow more once Trump gets them more water as he promised. We can cut back our dependency on avocados from Mexico.

Tough decision...less crime and fentanyl deaths or cheaper guacamole!

The media: hey no on trust us at all, we can either keep ramming our heads into the wall or stop lying and do an about face.

Also the media: slams head into the wall, why won’t normal Americans trust us

The replies on X to that thread are truly encouraging. People calling out the propaganda and demanding we use the tariffs to get Mexico to cooperate.

Just drink some Agave Spirit or Mezcal made in the USA. Same thing just not made in the region of Mexico required to be called tequila

Cut off CA's water. That state doesn't have the climate for that much agriculture. Send the avocado farms back to Mexico. Let the incentives pull people back to Mexico. Also, that water is needed to keep CA from burning down each year. Avocados would be a lot cheaper this way.

Tequila is from the devil. They can keep it.

Stay away from Rum though. Angels work too hard to make the good dark rums.

Fentanyl supply is dropping...

quote:

"The fentanyl supply is drying up for some reason," Ciccarone said. "Hang out on the streets, talk to people — the drugs are hard to find and more expensive."

The black market for drugs is roughly 100 billion. There is no stopping it, because criminals are smarter than voters and politicians.

When fentanyl stops being a thing, something more dangerous comes along. The market is too lucrative.

Hey Mexico, how about being a good neighbor and stop the flow of dangerous drugs into the US and stop massive illegal border crossings on your northern border into America. America can live without your avocados and booze.

It will just come from elsewhere. The issue is the demand on the American side.

Americans love drugs.

The only shitty beer is American beer!!

As the owner of an up and coming tequila company, this could possibly suck to the growth of my company but I support Trump protecting American jobs and economy!

What about tomatoes in the winter?
Lettuce
Strawberries
Raspberries
Blueberries
Cucumbers
Over 16% of all agricultural products consumed in this country comes from Mexico. US producers cannot meet the total demand and that # can fluctuate usually upwards.Plus now you are going to start raiding big farms and replacing immigrant seasonal labor with more expensive incels who will demand $18/ hr and forget to show up when it gets too hot.

Forget beer....seeing as how Bud Light just became this board's favorite beer due to its wokeness. Not only popular but now more expensive . What? You think InBev is going to lower prices with less competition?
