There are some amazing engineers today. They should hire one to help them build a bridge so they can get over it.

Well, in life there are winners.......

Can it be challenging to make it? Yes, no doubt, but the opportunity is there for the taking.

I live half the year on my farm in southeast Oklahoma. There are Indians everywhere and not a single one is mourning today.

On this day of mourning by Native Americans, the Cowboys beat the Redskins. Justice is served.

It was "their" land. They lost it like every other polity in the world throughout history lost land.

Up to 95% of the indigenous population of North and South America were rapidly wiped out when the Europeans arrived. However, armed conquest was not the main reason for the radical decimation of the first peoples on the continents.

It was smallpox that killed most of them, not war. The European invaders didn't even know why so many indigenous people were dying. At first, at least.

They eventually caught on in some areas and used the disease to their advantage but it was mostly the natural spread of smallpox in vulnerable populations that was responsible for the apocalypse. Estimates as high as 20 million people in the Americas died as a result of the inadvertent introduction of smallpox into the Western Hemisphere.

Indian Wars were at an end by the late-1880s, well outside living memory. Instead of mourning what was and settling for a second rate life style as a result, how about you join the 21st Century and move forward with the rest of us?

You do realize similar arguments could be made about the Confederacy in the Civil War?

To symbolize that mourning, all native American-owned casinos will close for the extended Thanksgiving weekend.

No, that’s not going to happen, because this is a political stunt and they’re not willing to back it with anything of value.

It’s THANKS.....GIVING. Be thankful for what you have instead of bitching about some distant event.

They get tax free revenue. I'm a native American and I have to pay taxes.
