Yes.

It hasn’t been too difficult for me. It was somewhat humorous, my brother in law told me everything that happened in college football at Christmas this year. He went team by team. I knew nothing about any of it and I didn’t care. I felt I missed nothing.

I went through 4 years of college and 3 years of law school with no tv in the pre cord cutting days so stepping away from entertainment media hasn’t been a big deal for me. It’s amazing how you will occupy your time with more productive and worthwhile things.

I spend more time actively engaging with my fiancée, family, and friends. I spend more time outside, walking, running, biking, kayaking. I’ve always been a big reader. I read more now. I tend to things that I let slide in the past.

It’s not that I’ve stopped completely with the entertainment media world but it’s been reduced to a very small part of my life now. The fiancée and I still curl up on the couch and watch a show or a movie from time to time. It’s minimal though.

When I watch tv it’s— 1st three seasons of MASH, leave it to Beaver, Andy Griffith show, Gomer Pyle, Happy Days 1st four seasons, Gilligans Island, the honeymooners and hogans heroes.

Movies— All Clint Eastwood films , John Wayne Films, the dirty Dozen, it’s a Mad, mad Mad world, stuff like that.

I can still enjoy stuff and ignore the political stuff personally.

It sucks to have to force myself to ignore it, but it isn't hard. Nothing I see on TV has changed my personally beliefs ever and I don't value the opinions of anyone associated with sports or hollywood unless they are speaking about their craft / profession.

Otherwise sports is just as fun to watch as it was before, same with movies / TV. I understand those who abandoned it though, because I considered it myself.

Seems like commercials these days are only using minorities for the actors. Is that discrimination against white people? Can't remember the last time I saw white people in a commercial.

In general I have retreated back to stuff that has been in the can for years, be it movies, TV, or games.

Lots of good shite to watch or play which doesn’t support most of the current asshats in any significant way, at least in comparison to new material.

I can only watch old movies. Anything within the last 5-10 years is absolutely pozzed.

I watched War Dogs last night. That was pretty good.

I’m not a snowflake, and believe it or not I can an still enjoy things made by people who aren’t just like me. I’m not so insecure that I demand that anyone I interact with loves and adores me as a person.

I mean, when your dumb arse goes to a restaurant, do you ask for a rundown of the chef’s world views before you decide if you can eat his food? If not, why not?

In the 80s, my grandfather had shelves full of westerns and old war movies on vhs. He would watch them all the time, and I didn’t get why. Now I do.

Does the chef come out and lecture you on his worldviews as well and tell you you're a bad person if you don't think like he does?

I don’t go looking for the chef’s politics but if they are made known to me through the chef being an outlandish douchebag online, I’m probably finding a different restaurant.

I have not gotten a PPV in years now...

Every time I look for a movie over the weekend. It is all politics, tran history month black people history movies.

There are no more funny movies.

If they did a new Hangover movie W/O politics I would watch it.

I may watch Top Gun but it has been postponed?

I disagree with Garth. Shania Twain is what ruined country music. Having said that, I love Shania and like her music but that was the very beginning start of country music hopping into the pop music category and along with that came the stupid outfits, songs, etc

Hey, if that’s what you want to do, then great. I’m just saying I’m not going to deprive myself of food, music, or sports that I enjoy just because the people on the other side of it don’t like me. Here’s another secret: they’ve never liked you. Entertainment being liberal is not a recent phenomenon. I’m not going to stop laughing at Seinfeld because it wouldn’t have existed without NBC.

If anyone thinks that makes me some white guilt soy boy, then whatever. If I don’t care what Netflix thinks about me, then you can bet your arse I don’t give a rat frick what your arse thinks.

The whole “boycot the left” thing has about as much teeth as vegans pretending like they can actually avoid all things made with animal byproducts. If you want to intentionally make your life harder, then enjoy your upvotes on this board, I guess.

Perfect answer, there is a local restaurant that my wife and I used to enjoy that went to just pick-up because of COVID. I looked them up online to see if they had reopened the dining room and they had "LGBT...." friendly posted. I will not go back now. If a conservative minded place advertised "Traditional Family" friendly there would be an uproar online.

The specific chef I am thinking of runs a steakhouse in NOLA where the check for an average meal runs about $150-200, can’t run the same level of service as before Covid, and is a complete and utter prick to customers in restaurant and who raise complaints online.

I could give a shite about the line chef at a midline restaurant but someone who charges premium prices can’t afford to be a fricking prick.

What has happened in this country in the last year, has made me almost not give a frick about anything outside of my family and job.

I am glad to see from all the posts that I am not the only one who has pulled away from modern TV and even sports as well. I grew up an LSU and Saint fanatic since the 60's as a kid, but today, I no longer watch the NFL and I notice that this past season I just seemed to lose my passion for college football, just wasn't the same. Same with the NBA- in the 70's I would go to most Jazz games, attended summer league games, everything. But with politics and BLM taking over, I simply cannot support an effort by a race of people to esentially spit in my face. Same with movies and TV shows- In the 80's when I just got married, my wife and I were at the show every week and watched a lot of diff. TV shows as well. Today, I don't go to the movies and certainly don't watch any of the TV shows, as I can see their bias, anti-white male agenda. Today, the heroes are women or black men, while the white male is a simpleton or he is gay. And for all the systemic racism, why is it that a race of people which reflects 13% of the population now appear in the majority of commercials? Can a TV show not include a black? My wife says I am turning into my Dad because I now basically only watch old Western movies or old shows like Highway Patrol, Perry Mason, The Untouchables, Cannon, Barnaby Jones, etc. I try to avoid anything after the 90's, because you can tell even the writers are suffering because they try too hard to be politically correct, so the movies/shows just don't excite. Everything today is propaganda, of which I refuse to follow!

You sound upset and as if you are consumed by this.

Don’t concern yourself with what people want to do with their time.
