Did it a long time ago:

1965.. Gave up award shows..oscar, tony, Miss America, all of them.

1970...Gave up network sitcoms. Last one I watched was Greenacres.

1980...Gave up late night talk. Johnny was still on.

2000...Gave up going to movies. And I've never bought a movie for home viewing. I just watch the old stuff on basic satellite.

I’m 35 and agree with all of the sentiments expressed in this thread.

Just last night my wife was watching a Big Bang Theory episode and TBS was pushing their new show about a tranny going through high school. They made sure to mention that it’s white dad wasn’t around, but luckily a black man stepped in to help it’s white mother

It’s a joke and everything they pump out has very specific political messaging woven in.

I haven't been to a movie in 15+ years. I haven't seen many of "new" movies at all. I just don't see the point in giving my money to someone who basically donates it to a political cause that I disagree with. Actresses and athletes only have a voice because of the money they make off of the working public. Take away their income....the voice will go with it.

It takes more than a few to do this. I've cancelled Netflix, I have no cable/satellite. My biggest weakness is Amazon. It's just too convenient. I'm working on that one.

Yes but not solely due to the political nature of it. Don't get me wrong, it's annoying to listen to a bunch of jackasses pontificate, but in my older age, I find that I just don't give a frick anymore.

I have way more areas where I can focus my energies.

Yep. We cut the cord, and we’re even getting rid of Netflix.

Let Hollywood burn.

Traditional American Patriots should en masse abandon paying money to see sports, mass media and Hollywood's entertainment.

I'd wager Mel Brooks would get cancelled were he actively working today. Go figure, the Left is humorless if nothing else.

I'd love to see a remake of Blazing Saddles, just to see what garbage Hollywood would make of that classic.

Comedy, whether stage or movies, is dead. It died when the mission died. The old mission was to get everyone to laugh; the new mission is to get every liberal to applaud.

Just like music I don't watch many movies made after 1970.

Once Upon a Time in the West was the last great western made. The Good, Bad and the Ugly was up there too.

Country music the same. Barf Brooks destroyed real country western when he hit it big and ever since you can just call it "Pop" country western.

Maybe not as old, but I hear you on country music. Haven't listened to any "country" since the early 90's or so, and that was a lot of miss rather than hit.

Dusted off the old CD case I found cleaning out a cabinet and one of my daughter's friends was excited to hear Marty Robbins... says she listens to him all the time. Good music is still good music, even to teenagers.

And the last show I watched religiously was The Americans. Loved that show and how it depicted the Russians as truly the opposite of (the old) America. That and Keri Russell.

Westerns: Pale Rider and Unforgiven were both pretty damn good and made post 1970

I’ve been done with present Hollywood for a long time now. The recent BLM worship by sports makes me finished with them, too.

I’ve discovered that the classic shows found on MeTV, Antenna TV, and Pluto are more than enough to keep me entertained. As for my baseball fix, there are thousands of games to be found on YouTube from the 1930’s through the 90’s that I like to listen to or watch.

Later today I think I’ll finish watching game 7 of the 1960 World Series. I wonder how it will end? No spoilers, please.

Hollywierd heads would explode. Blazing Saddles already has the black guy as the clever, wise-cracking hero, and a bunch of dumb white guy villains, so what material is there for SJWs to twist around?

SJWs think they're so original and they're NOT.

Might as well go for applause, Liberals have no soul, therefore no humor.

When you can get by in life just based on looks or athletic ability you don't have to bother with fully developing other aspects of your self.

Probably why I'm such an a-hole.

i definitely lost all my fading interest in the NBA over the last couple of years. Still a big football fan, but i'll be honest, my interest and attention to it definitely faded some.

Will be interesting to see how leagues approach this in the future. I think you see NBA and NFL begin to redirect their ships a bit to bring back in alienated fans

I was held up in one of the break rooms yesterday morning at work.

I saw the CBS morning show

EVERY SINGLE frickING STORY was BLM induced bullshite.

There was one black women and two of the worst guilty white whipped "men" I have ever seen. I am surprised she didn't make them raise their hand to speak, she could have.

Anyone else just done with the entertainment world?

Been done. My television has been mostly a decorative ornament the past few years. Same thing with sports. I'm practically down to LSU football, and I was even turned off by some of their antics last season, too. The national title game between LSU & Clemson on 1/13/20 was the last sporting event I really enjoyed (Which included the incredible pre-game ovation for President Trump and Melania). If the Leftists continue to ruin sports, at least I went out with a bang with that LSU/Clemson game, because it was (is) my favorite football game of all-time.

PS - I did watch the Super Bowl this year, though, with the sound muted. I only watched because race-baiting idiots like Shannon Sharpe and Jemele Hill had tried to portray Tom Brady as being Adolph Hitler 2.0 simply because he had a MAGA hat in his locker about 5-6 years ago. That was total bullshite.
