I grew up with movies, it was (then) an affordable form of family entertainment and the 80s/90s was a good time for movies. I know more movie lines and movie trivia than anyone should. When Netflix, Prime and the like started producing movie-style series shows, I signed up for most of them at one time or the other. I was a die-hard Auburn fan and loved the Astros. Masters week used to be circled on my calendar every year.

Now they can all rot.

Seeing some of the "celebrity" responses to Limbaugh's death has just highlighted something I already knew, but ignored. These are low people. They are prostitutes playing pretend. Sports has politicized everything and after the BLM crap last season, I've tossed every bit of Astros gear. Auburn hasn't gone all-in with the politics, but I still didn't really bother watching very much this past season. (Partly thanks to Gus Malzahn)

I don't really find myself missing it all very much. Movies pretty much suck these days and with Netflix being an Obama outlet, Disney censoring leftist tyrants and Amazon a globalist monstrosity...it's not so hard to let it go. It does suck just how hard it is to avoid these people, though.

It's sad, but we need a parallel economy. You shouldn't have to bend the knee ideologically to enjoy entertainment fare, bit that's where we are. Anyone else feel this way?

I realized that my time is much more valuable than sitting on a couch watching shite tv and spending my time giving a flying shite about sports

Sports has become smoke a mirrors

When I hear that a pitcher signs a $300 million contract to play a fricking game and it costs me more money to watch because of that.. sports can kiss my arse

I can only watch old movies. Anything within the last 5-10 years is absolutely pozzed.

The last show I really watched was The Wire. I feel weird when people talk about all these Netflix and Amazon shows they watch, but I have zero interest. I do follow sports, but mainly for the gambling aspect, and am really only passionate about tennis. College football this year was bizarro world. I did enjoy the NFL playoffs, so I guess I can't stay away there.

People believe what MSM and social media tell them to believe. There is not much you can do if they don't share the same sources of info as you.

As far as movies, I find myself watching things my parents or even grandparents would have watched. Maybe that’s normal, I don’t know.

As far as sports, I went from watching, to only checking scores, to not even checking scores.

agreed.

Hollywood has always had its share of commies and perverts, but they're off the charts now. Maybe THAT crowd should learn to code. And may the entertainment industry rot in a very hot place.

I'd wager Mel Brooks would get cancelled were he actively working today. Go figure, the Left is humorless if nothing else.

Just like music I don't watch many movies made after 1970.

Once Upon a Time in the West was the last great western made. The Good, Bad and the Ugly was up there too.

Country music the same. Barf Brooks destroyed real country western when he hit it big and ever since you can just call it "Pop" country western.

Yeah I'm old.

If hollywood / streaming services would make movies that aren't commie propaganda or perversions I'd happily watch.

I’m a big entertainment consumer. I love going to the movies and I love a great tv series. With that being said, it’s getting really hard to give my money to people that hate my guts. Kind of like the guy above said about college football, I’m still consuming some but I’m much less enthusiastic about it.

It's definitely difficult to watch anything with Robert DeNiro now knowing what a piece of shite he is and what he thinks of half of us.

The entertainment world, including sports, has new objectives of indoctrination and creating a "new" normal, instead of being entertaining.

First of all the content in the entertainment industry is just awful. Add the woke aspect and I just have no desire to watch anything.

Sports feels like a part of me died. I knew that the 2019 season would be once in a lifetime. Little did I know that would mark the end of my ability to truly enjoy sports. I for one will never forget how much these people hate my guts and beliefs.

Ultimately this will turn out to be a good thing. Reading more books, more outdoor activities, time with family and less time veging out.

Crazy how these entertainers think passing off 50% of your potential customers is a good idea.

I will never step foot in movie theater again and I'll never watch another professional game of any sport again.

Martellus Bennett said it best.

"A lot of your favorite athletes and entertainers are simply terrible people"

I used to love movies as well. Movies are costly and most are just flat out awful now throwing social and political jabs in em. Comedies have been hit the hardest. There hasn’t been a good classic comedy movie made in over a decade (the hangover). Todd Phillips said in an interview when his joker movie came out that he’ll never do another comedy ever again because it’s impossible to make a good comedy without offending someone and getting cancelled. He was spot on with that comment.

Apparently, you are a die-easy Auburn fan....the kind many people would consider to be fair weather.

Other than that, I agree with the rest of your post.
