We made some for the 4th, My Dad (82 yrs Old) claimed it was the best he ever had. I made the mix a day ahead of time so it was cold when we started. sat the churn inside an ice chest. Only took about a bag and a half of ice and it sat up really well. I couldn't find any rock salt so used water softener coarse salt. It worked really well.

I work for a local contractor and we have people out there. I have been in this area for 30 yrs. Great place to raise a family. Local Airport has daily flights to ATL or Dallas. I live out in the country but if I had to do it again I would lie closer to Starkville. Columbus has issues that can be tiresome. From all accounts ADI/SDI treat their employees well and they make good money for the area.

Ain't got no cigarettes, But 2 hrs of pushing broom.
My Daughter (no pics) lives in Kansas City, that's about a 10 hr drive. That is about all I want these days. I have driven from Salt Lake City to Montgomery Alabama with a friend just stopping for gas and bathroom breaks. It was miserable towards the end. Also drove solo from New Hampshire once. God was watching over me towards the of that one.

Lake Guntersville is one of our favorites. They have both RV and Primitive sites. Right on the lake with a beach area. Plenty of trails nearby.
Our children are adults and live away. We have visited with them already, this year we are traveling to see my Dad and Sister, then seeing Brother-in-law the 26th. North Mississippi to Atlanta back across I20 to Alabama then home. Everyone came to us last year so this year we are the roadrunners.
I work with a person that officiates Miss High School football. He called some Oxford games, he tells me that Lane is good, sees the game better than most kids on the field and has good physical skills.

I am 45 minutes South of Tupelo and am gaining birds every couple days. Got up to swarm status last year. Hope they return in the next couple weeks.
Getting started a good place to buy wood for this offset is Academy. They have several varieties, I always start out with charcoal to get the smoker heated up and then add wood when I start cooking and monitor as it goes along. I enjoy the process, also gives me an excuse to sit and sip bourbon.
Went through this with my father-in-law. His son and my wife(no pics) took his keys after he kept getting the brake and accelerator mixed up due to nephropathy in his feet. He hit a couple things going backward instead of forward or vice versa. He complained to me and tried to get me to intervene on his behalf. I wouldn't so he got mad at me. Shortly thereafter he had other health complications and went to the nursing home and never got out. Was hard but necessary.

Railbird Music Festival

Attended the Railbird Music Festival in Lexington, KY this past weekend and had a blast. Saw several of the young up and comers and some of my favorites. Ryan Bingham is really good live, Wyatt Flores was really good too. Sierra Ferrel is alot of fun. Music is in good hands. Festival was well organized and plenty of food and drink options. Transportation plan could use a little improvement but wasn't unmanageable. All the stages sound set ups were good too. Nice way to spend some time in the Bluegrass state.

Spent my Summers walking fields with a paint roller mounted on a piece of PVC and a jug of roundup, wiping the Johnson grass. Also built the wick bars.
